when i was in the third grade, there was a small, red-headed white boy named Sam who was really smart and introverted. they teased him a lot, but the main thing i remember is that he had sleepy eyes, really big glasses, and that we both got frustrated to the point of tears (he actually ended up under a desk holding his head and rocking) at our teacher giving us the word problem, “i have two coins that equal thirty cents and one is not a nickel. what are the coins?”

(the answer was a nickel and a quarter, because the quarter is not a nickel, so one of the coins is not a nickel. to this day, i am infuriated that i was given this question and that i had to suffer because it was less of a math problem and more of a wordplay joke.)

I heard bad things about s2, nothing about s3, and good things about s4. Unfortunately I can't just marathon through s2 in one sitting cuz I have to write in between episodes ;_;

I dislike everyone but jinora, and asami, neither of whom have done anything yet, off and on kinda like korra I guess sorta. I really want to like bei fong + bolin, both of whom I liked last season. oh and I like naga. That's about it.

e: no I forgot the best one! The assistant woman who has to do everything--it's like that one 80s episode of doctor who. I hope this also ends with her killing her boss and inheriting his company. That would be good.

I'm boring but--Sphinx cats. Despite trying my best to like them I just can't. They can be cute I guess, but for me half of the appeal of cats is how soft and nice they are to pet (the other half is how warm and heavy they are when they lie on you). Petting skin is just kinda bleh to me.

What have you done recently, big or small, that you’re happy about?

Lots of things! Some friends and I were planning a renpy monster dating sim but then we stopped talking about it for several months, but ever since two of us got rpgmaker in a humble bundle we've been talking about it again, and I love coming back to these characters that we made and 'lost touch' with and remembering why I enjoyed them so much.

Also I'm pretty happy about the cake I just baked. It smells really good.

Thirdly because I suck at motivating myself to do anything ever and tend to avoid finding out information that might freak me out, I'm happy that I went and double checked that it really was too early to apply to SFUs spring semester and I hadn't gotten applications mixed up with registrations or anything. (Whew!)

What story (Movie, TV, Video Game, Book, Comic, ect) moved you the most emotionally?

This is hard. I tend to get really, really into things and then have forgotten them a few months later. I know there are things that moved me quite strongly but I can't really think of them at the moment (I'm huge fucking crybaby so just making me cry doesn't count). I don't think anything has really moved me powerfully--maybe if there were more movies about ace trans kids or something? Hm... Well if I can cheat and answer the story which affected me most, then possibly His Dark Materials. I used to drive with my mom and dad down to Vancouver nearly every summer, and we would listen to the Golden Compass on tape and sometimes the Subtle Knife or the Amber Spyglass, and eventually I got the box set of the books and read them myself. The first one was my favourite, because I didn't like Will (Sullen baby ace Toby never liked anyone who ended up romantically involved with the main character.), and Lyra was my role model. I was ridiculously upset at the end of the third book (spoilers?) that Lyra lost her intrinsic ability to read the alethiometer and had to learn it again. I hated stories that ended with people being too grown up for whatever.

What is your favorite fragrance?

Uh, food. Does that count? The smell of baking--cinnamon buns!

What is your favorite way to compliment others?

I generally only compliment my friends, I think. People I don't really know but I think are cool get called cool. Friends--telling them what about them makes me enjoy spending time with them so much, or if they think they're not that good at something they are actually pretty good at, telling them that. I like being specific, not vague, because that feels more honest to me, and I hope feels more honest and believable to them. I like to try to compliment people in ways they won't dismiss, but will take to heart and feel good about.

How big is your songs library?

Non-existent. I only listen to other people's music, random songs on youtube (that other people probably introduced me to), AMVs (neeeerd) and random playlists I find on the internet. There is no music on my computer or phone and I don't own a mp3 player of any kind.

Are you a Pink or a Purple?

I think I'm the wrong person to ask. I'd like to be a Purple but I think I'm more of a Pink.

Oh I'm easy. Everybody I vaguely like makes me smile. All my friends do within seconds of getting together. I guess I will plug Jet Wolf though because she can make me laugh about Sailor Moon when I'm in the grumpiest moods. And since I'm talking about livebloggers I will also plug Mark Oshiro of Mark Watches and Mark Reads for being the horrified victim of all the tragic things I like and letting me bask in his terror and confusion. That makes me smile because I'm awful. (He's doing Utena! He's doing Utena!) (Plus his comment section is the friendliest of any site ever.)
