Sound-off Contest Winner announced!
Congratulations to shootingshiningstar for the winning answer to the Sound Off question: If you were the writer for the episode that Ty asks Amy to marry him, how would you have him propose?
shootingshiningstar answered: Ty takes Amy on a horse ride w/ Spartan to the original jump course. Amy would do all the jumps, on the last one he’d be kneeling behind her
shootingshiningstar, you are now the proud owner of a 2013 Heartland calendar! I (Izzie) will message you for your name and address, so I can get that sent to you ASAP! :)

Asgdsfhkgl attempting to watch Pocahontas 2. SEND ME YOUR THOUGHTS MIRANDA.
POCAHONTAS 2 ACTUALLY MAKES ME WANT TO DIE INSIDE. Besides the obvious fact that the quality of animation, music etc is so half-assed compared to the first one, the film itself is just not good?
I can understand what they were trying to do with it by making it more historically accurate and all but they just really didn't try with it. Like okay you're going to have her get with John Rudolph or whatever the hell his name is instead of John Smith, yeah I'd be all right with that if they hadn't made John Smith a complete ass in the process. He was so OOC in the second one like with him wanting her to come away with him, not caring if she actually wanted too when at the end of the first film, he let her go because he wanted her to do whatever she wanted? And, oh god, the whole plot of him like faking his death or some shit I can't, I mean... who the hell came up with that crappy plotline? It was giving the impression that for Pocahontas to have another relationship her previous boyfriend/lover had to die? That's a pretty dodgy message even if she did find out he hadn't actually died.
To be honest, I can't remember that much about it aside from the shitty love triangle, except the whole thing with them trying to white-wash her when she went to Britain and then she refused too. I guess that was okay but that should have been the focus of the film rather than the 'ooo which John is Pocahawtness gonna choose guyyys'.
Basically, they should have just left the whole Pocahontas thing alone after the criticism they recieved for the first one being inaccurate since the second one really didn't do them any favours either. I haven't looked into it recently so I'm not sure if I've got my facts 100% right but I think she was actually forced into marrying John R and led quite a sad life afterwards so Disney really shouldn't have tried to put a positive spin on that one if they weren't expecting a whole lot of criticism for it.
