More Animating at Thurstonland!
More ambitious animating and making today using iPads to develop and shoot the short film 'Monkey and Wombat'. The children captured animation using 2 iPads (running iStopmotion) housed within the iOgrapher case with additional lenses. The lenses offered much more flexibility when animating on two devices, allowing for the capture of close up shots and wides simultaneously.
Another amazing making day today with the Shoot Smart Group in Thurstonland. The settings and characters look wonderful, as do these photographs by Yvonne Roberts. The test sequences shot using the iStopmotion app are really encouraging! Whoop! Can't wait to start animating for real!
Copper Beard and the Legend of Pie
A great start to the Shoot Smart project for the group at Battyeford School, as they started their journey into tablet based filmmaking with experimental character and scene designs. The group were introduced to three apps; Sketchtime, Drawing Carl and ArtPad (actually an iPhone app that runs great on the iPad). Although the group enjoyed using all the apps, initial feedback was unamimous in declaring ArtPad the most interesting, engaging and useful app of the three when it came to character design. All of the designs were collated onto one device using the rather splendid Kingston MobileLite which worked seamlessly.
