Benicia's Holiday Open House & Tree Lighting is Friday, 6-9 p.m. on First St in downtown Benicia. The street will be closed to traffic allowing thousands to stroll and visit merchants and businesses who open their doors and serve refreshments. Holiday carolers dressed in period costumes and local musicians add to the festivities. Haven't been to the Holiday Open House before? Here's how some do it: First, head to the foot of First St to enjoy the music of Kris Kringle & the Mistletones. Nearby, is the wine & beer station at the Benicia Main Street depot. The tree, situated in the round-about at the foot of First St, will be lit at approx. 6:30 p.m. to cheers from the crowd. Afterwards, take your time strolling back up First St, running into old friends and neighbors while you visit First St businesses. #benicia residents: Take advantage of FREE Sleigh Rides to the Open House. SolTrans will operate two special routes. Sleigh Ride 15 & Sleigh Ride 17 will operate from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Route schedule & additional details at www.soltransride.com/2018/11/sleighride/ Photos courtesy Benicia Main Street, @tanjakopper Photography, @matthew1_powers , SolTrans #holiday #openhouse #treelighting #shopandstroll #familyfun #onlyinbenicia @visitbenicia (at Benicia, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bq-ew7nl6Fg/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=zt7wp78zfky7
