I have visited a Korean brand shop that is called “BESLOW” it is a multi-brand fashion retailer with stores in Korea. There is an online shop and offline shops in Korea, however, I have visited a shop that is placed in Hong-Dae, Hong-Dae is placed in the northwest of Seoul, which is very famous for food and one of the places where people spend their time. As soon as I entered this offline shop I got a great impression of their styling and their clothing that they have. For further research, I heard that they started off with menswear and later on they started to do womenswear as well. The shop was not that big however they had clothing for men. Usually, the shops will have more clothing for women, but since BESLOW started off with menswear it seems to have more men’s clothing than women’s. The employer told me that BESLOW was a brand that started off online and then as they got more famous, they started off to make offline shops in Korea. The prices in the shop were not expensive either. One coat in the shop would be around 200,000 KRW, which is about 140 pounds in current currency. Also, the quality of the fabric felt that they use was a high quality. Since Korea has a very cold winter they had all kinds of coats, jackets, knits, hats, shoes, and every item that u will need in the cold weather. I didn't know about this brand however by just going around Hong-Dae I have found this place and went in which gave me a great impression; the style that they have was following the trend but showing their own style of clothing. Personally, I like brands that are more classic, and this brand was following the trend and showing the classical taste of what they have which I really loved.

I have visited a Korean street brand named “Vibrate” this shop is in Garosu-Gil (Sinsa-Dong). Sinsa-Dong is located in the very central of Seoul. Vibrate has become one of the trend brands in Korea which is one of the most famous street brands inKorea. The reason why I chose this shop was that it had very fabulous building looking from the outside, which made me do a report on this shop. This shop had two floors, first floor with just Vibrate items, second floor with collaboration with VLACK. The most interesting part of this shop for me was that they had a terrace that they can order drunk while they shop. Personally, when I thought of Vibrate I thought that they were over priced, because one cap cost 150,000~200,000 KRW, which is 100~140 pounds. After looking at the caps changed my mind. They have good marketing, making famous celebrities wear their caps and photo shoots. The most interesting part of the price for me was when I found out that caps and clothing had the same price. After watching the items I thought they have good style and fabric in their clothing/caps. I thought that after I get to earn some money in my career, I would buy some of the clothing and caps to style my own self. IT was a good experience to watch and learn.
|SHOP REPORT| ~ LEVI’S CARNABY ST LONDON
Window Display ~ Big red capital ‘Levi’s’ sign central on the front of the store. A strong identifiable logo, supporting the brands signature colour scheme; of red, navy blue and white. Both male and female mannequins in the front window, modelling the brands latest collection pieces. Behind the mannequin was the standard visual media of a blown up female wearing jeans and a checkered shirt. We could take this into consideration when thinking about our shop front, maybe avoid this approach and consider a white wall drop?!
Trends ~ Ripped jeans, different coloured denim, pockets, red highlights and a simple silhouette; finished with fashionable boots. All trends stick within Levi’s usual branding, with no new changes however some features fall into the workwear aspect which ties in with our concept.
First Impression ~ Unfortunately, for some reason Levi’s has never impressed me. I feel as though the brand sticks to its guns; and never thinks outside the box when it comes to advertisement and shop aesthetic. My impression is that the shop has opted to create a natural feel for the store, as well as also adding a hint of industrial environment.
However there are some aspects which could be taken into consideration for our own shop layout, such as the stripped away walling, concrete and brick features. I liked the rusty changing room doors, and the dotted steel plate stair flooring. Downstairs featured a seating area, with the use of wooden furniture and plant features.
