Do you watch anime YouTubers?
Then watch this: https://youtu.be/v6uH71BdMBA
Suede is a small, New Zealand, YouTuber of 20,000 subscribers who is best known for his series Pokemon Journeys, in which he reviews the pokemon anime starting from the first season of Kanto.
Unfortunately, you can no longer watch Suede.
Shopro, the owners of the Pokemon anime, have sued Suede in small claims court in Japan. They sent that information to YouTube and YouTube took down all of Suede's videos and will soon be deleting his channel.
Shopro bypassed the entire copyright claims system of YouTube and went straight to sueing an international YouTuber for violating the copyright system of a different country.
This can happen with any YouTuber who uses clips or content owned by any Japanese company.
Fair Use is a mess, but fixes can be made by making a fuss, a big fuss.
We cannot allow companies to bully creators and destroy their work.
Watch the video, reblog, like, share, and be loud about it. Today it's Suede, tomorrow it could be everyone.
