I see this shit so I go to see what seller is being an absolute twat waffle and selling this shit.

I'm not gonna screenshot what else is on this shop, but yall, please don't put crystals in your hoohas and other hahoos.

oh man i was reminded that i went to this shop in long beach called “eye of the cat”, their gimmick is that they have a couple of black cats running around the shop. so I went to check it out, maybe get some supplies, and pet a cat. 

I got there not long after opening, so I can’t blame the person working there for not being super attentive. I’m not great in mornings either. but we looked around, and I wasn’t greatly impressed by what I saw.

their crystal selection was half empty, and what was there? were more like chips than anything I could call in good conscience a rock or stone. and they were selling those itty bitty things for $3 each! (well, cheaper if you buy in bulk, but why would you? you’d lose those things the instant you put them down!) 

none of their oil blends or incenses had any ingredient lists on them, the only relevant information on the label was the name of each (either that of a deity or an effect intended). I can get wanting to preserve the mystery but this seems really shady to me, what if someone were to use these without knowing there was a component they were allergic to in it? 

what they did have a selection of were obscurely named ingredients. while I’m pretty sure that “bat heart” didn’t actually come from a critter, it’s unhelpful to people who are looking for things by their common names. however there were also “cat bones”, which given the shop’s emphasis on “mojo” items made me raise an eyebrow. to say nothing of how they might have obtained such bones, I’m fairly certain it’s illegal to sell animal parts in california.

in addition to that, plenty of people more sensitive than myself have reported a lot of “negative energy” in the store. it really feels to me like this shop is benefiting off of the ignorance of people who don’t know much about working magic, especially given the exorbitant prices of the crystals. these are probably the exact peridot chips I saw in the store, if you buy from the source you could get an entire bag for less than they were selling a single piece. the only benefit I could see to shopping there is if you really need something right now, rather than waiting a couple of weeks after ordering something online.

so to all the other socal witches out there: use your heads and don’t get scammed by shops and sellers like these.
