Short Continuation - A Cup of Cold Tea
On a morning, Rose woke up.
With a nearly-still closed eyes, she glanced at the clock beside her bed and realized that it's still very early. The sun hasn't even risen yet.
She stretched her hand lazily and finally got up. She walked to her living room. That room, like always, was empty. By then, no one lived there beside her anyway. Absent-mindedly, she went to the dining table and sat on a chair beside it. She stared at her tea which she didn't manage to finish last night. Yeah, last night, she thought to herself. It surprised her that she was able to fall asleep last night. Sleeping at nights hasn't been her forte for quite some years. Something good must have happened yesterday.
It's weird to wake up around this time, but it feels good, she thought again.
She felt nice. Her body felt somewhat lighter and for once in a while, nothing came to her mind. That was very rare. She really did wake up in the morning with a light feeling.
Rose lifted her hand to pick her cup of tea. When she touched the ceramic-material cup, a cold sensation slowly spread to her hand. Last night must have been cold, she didn't notice. She took a sip of the cold tea and she thought to herself. A cup of tea, huh?
As she put down the cup, her mind trailed back to her younger days. She was reminded of how she got the habit of drinking tea. She was reminded of how she used to drink the tea happily. She was reminded of how she used to drink the tea 'together' at the very place where she's now.
But that was in the past.
The red haired woman smiled. It was in the past huh?
