Chapter 1.2 - A New Chaldea?

A tall dark figure had now joined BB and Ram outside of Chaldea’s doors.

“Oh good you’re here, can you… I don’t actually know how your weird lich magic works, but I’m guessing you can at least detect some sort of something going on here, right?”

The lich did not respond, but instead stood staring at the building. Even despite the sun’s rays beating down, Dusk still remained unaffected by the dark suit ix always wore.

“It’s definitely Yukari’s work. Or at least, part of it.”

“What do you mean, only part of it?” BB asked.

“The way these two places are blended together here, this definitely had to come from Yukari, but knowing her she would have only pulled Chaldea in directly as-is. No, there is something else marked all over this building, something quite dark.”

BB’s tail flicked. Not many people she knew were powerful enough to pull something off like this. Aeva maybe? As a goddess of time, her abilities might be capable, but she was far too sweet to just do something this—

“Hiiiiiii, I’m here!!”

Shortcake, the tiniest member at only 3/4 of a foot tall, had arrived and was carrying a fairly large book about twice her size above her head.

Ram acknowledged her. “Greetings. I take it you’ll be recording everything as well then?”

The fairy posed with a peace sign and tongue sticking out, now holding up the book with one hand. “Just leave it to me!”

Ram nodded. “Good, that just leaves Azure then. I reached out to Az but was unable to get a response, so this will have to do for now.”

BB frowned. “Odd, but I guess she does tend to forget to respond to stuff a lot.”

A few moments later, a cloud of dust exploded to the group’s side before clearing with a strong gust of wind.

“Hey!!! Watch where you’re landing!!” Shortcake juggled her book in the air while trying to hold back a few coughs. Dusk and Ram seemed largely unaffected, but BB did struggle a bit to hold her composure as well.

“Ah, I’m sorry, I just tried to get here as fast as I could!”

A short figure stood in the center of the blast site, wielding a glaive and dusting sand off her mystic code. With a few final flaps of her large butterfly wings, Azure approached the group.

“I take it we're all ready to go then?”

“Yep, I got my mystic code, my glaive, health potions, scoutflies, tranq bombs...”

“I uh, don't know how necessary all that'll be, but anyway um, Ram are we ready?”

“Affirmative. Opening doors now . . . ”

alrighty we’re makin some solid progress with our little master interview series, next up, Shortcake! look at this tiny little fairy, hello, tell me, how do you feel about the mata hari?

I think she’s rly rly cute and good and I wanna squish her cheeks and bop her nose and sit on her head while she runs around doing stuff and u ever just stop and appreciate the cute little flowers in her hair??? they actually still smell like real flowers :0

[ ❄️ ] is there any special meaning behind your muse’s name? what is it?

Umm, I think I was just looking at a bunch of like, really cute skirts and dresses n stuff? and I was thinking about what name would really fit the aesthetic I wanted to dress like, and I picked Shortcake!! Mainly bc I’m so sweet and cute and I think shortcakes make for a v cute outfit design <3

The name Aeva comes from the word “aevum,” which describes the “improper eternity” that is experienced by divine entities, separate from the more concrete passage of time that directly affects the mortal worlds. As a goddess of time, I felt as though it would be an appropriate enough name for myself.

[ 📢 ] what does your muse’s voice sound like? is it high-pitched, or deep? is it nasal or set in their chest? describe it in as much detail as you can.

My voice is like rly high pitched and kinda has like a bit of a bounce to it i think?? It’s rly cute and soft and cheery like me <33

I’d say my voice is pretty similar to az’s, but like, a bit flatter i guess? not sure, but it’s definitely a bit separate.

Mata’s voice is really warm though and a lil high pitched? Definitely also has a bit of a bounce to it but not quite as much as Shortcake’s.

[ 👶 ] is your muse good with kids, or do they prefer to avoid them?

I think I’m rly good w/ kids bc I definitely get the creative bouncy energeticness to them n stuff!! so like, playing around w/ them n stuff?? yeye!! but i dont think i would be very good at raising them or anything bc they would be like “can we get icecream??” and i would be like “omg can we?? what flavors are we gonna get???”

Mata is so good with raising kids though, she’s absolutely a mom figure and would make sure everyone goes to bed at a reasonable time and help with their homework and stuff like that <3
