A New Development || Xeno and Sybill
Sybill had no previous experience in the matter of romance. Her few childhood crushes consisted simply of admiration from afar, and no boy would ever dream of asking psycho Sybill out on a date. In her more recent years she had the not uncommon misfortune of having feelings for her best friend. She knew she had no chance with Xeno; he was her friend, nothing more, and that would never change. It was hard for her, feeling the way she did about him and not being able to do anything about it, but she was happy that she at least had his friendship.
So when she found him not only admitting that he liked her, and then kissing her, of all things, she was in complete shock. Sybill had never expected this. Never once in her mind had she imagined Xeno, her crush for years, her best and only friend, kissing her.
As he leaned in and their lips touched, she didn't move. She stood in place, her eyes wide open, unable to react. She let him kiss her lightly, feeling the tender brush of his lips and nose against hers. Her first kiss.
The kiss was brief and cautious, merely a peck. Sybill knew he was gauging her reaction, checking if she was alright with this new development. He was always so careful, never wanting to hurt or upset her. It was one of the things that she loved so much about him. He needn't worry, though. She may have been shocked, but it was a good shock. The shock of having what you never dared hope you would have.
For once she did not notice the view of the stars around her, or feel the breeze that blew over the top of the Astronomy tower. All she could see was Xeno. Fair and wonderful Xeno, her friend Xeno, Xeno who just kissed her. She beamed at him, smiled her widest smile, and kissed him back.
