To inspire and help others that have no one there for them because I know what it feels like to have no one to talk to.

Why'd you start tweeting?
We wanted to connect with our students and prospective students in a more personal, relatable way. We found Twitter to be a great way to interact with them.
What question are we not asking here that we should?
What's a bearcat? Pure awesomeness.
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
Communicate with us. We love speaking directly with students.
Can you name some one-of-a-kind Twitter accounts that you follow?
Baxter Bearcat! He’s our mascot. Yes, we do follow an animal on Twitter
What's the wildest experience you've had via social media?
We gained the biggest Facebook following in the whole SUNY system, which consists of 64 campuses! Also, one of our commencement speeches from 2011 went viral!
Terms you wish would start trending on Twitter right now?
#inbingu We’re asking students who were admitted for the Fall 2014 semester to tweet us pictures of their admission letters. We love their excitement and enthusiasm! And #bearcat4life is the hashtag our alumni use. We want to stay connected with future, current, AND past students.
How do you make your tweets unique?
Our tweets are aimed at a larger population than most – one that consists of students, alumni, faculty, our local community, and parents.
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
Twitter isn’t just about updating followers on what you’re doing everyday. It’s about connecting with people you may not have been able to connect with before.
Hashtag you created that you wish everyone used?
Our students sure do like using #BingPride, #Bearscats4Life, #GreenFridays, and #Pantone342, which is our school color.
How do you decide what to tweet?
There’s so much happening on campus and in our area every single day, so we love to keep the Binghamton University community (and the Twitter world) updated about what’s going on. We also really enjoy getting feedback from our followers, the majority of our tweets and retweets come from them!
What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
The late Nelson Mandela followed us on Twitter before his passing.
Why should we vote for you?
Ask our followers! Some said we use social media effectively, others said we post amazing pictures of campus life. Whatever they say, we believe them.

Prevent suicide by tweeting people who are feeling like doing it so that they don't take their precious lives

Hopefully it will have less bullying/harassment on it, and more positivity :)

I can quit anytime! It's easy! I'm not addicted, I just haven't felt like stopping. But I could go forever, really. I think.

I don't edit myself. I'm a smartass but I'm never mean. And sometimes I write funny crap.

All funny aside, I've gotten thousands of tweets from people who read GUTS & want to live a truthful life. I try to support that in all ways.

1. none of my family is on twitter. I've told them all it costs $400 to join. 2. Ive found so many people read GUTS & connect #keepgoodgoin
Why'd you start tweeting?
To promote my book, GUTS (outinpaperback1/22). But I realized that was revolting (pleasebuyit) and decided to trash Leann Rimes instead

You know, it really has. As an addict in recovery, it's fun to be addicted to something that doesn't give me a hang-over
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
I got nuthin. I got a HUGE "less" list though....
How will the world change in the next year?
People will continue to learn that addiction is a disease, and the shame that surrounds it will lift even more....

YES!!! ok, tagging someone in a convo theyre not in for 7,000 tweets. When u want to unfollow, no need to tell the person how lame they are
