Peaceful Park Pond Reflections from the Perspective of a Perch atop a Promontory Rock in November 2020 I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday and weekend (or whatever day/time you're reading this). I truly love the original wider version of this photo so much so that it is my phone's background and has been since November. There's something about the stillness of the water which looks like glass in this photo and the bright autumn hues of the leaves on the trees across the pond. It's all so calm and peaceful. Also, in my mind I tell myself that the rock in the foreground sort of makes it look like the photo was taken on some epic cliff overlooking a beautiful vista below. I know the perspective doesn't quite accomplish that but I haven't been able to really go anywhere for a year so I gotta be able to dream, right??? 😀 As I mentioned I took this photo on my @madebygoogle @googlepixel Google Pixel 2 XL in Nov 2020 back before Toronto entered the strictest lockdown in North America (which we are still under) & everyone was stuck at/near home by government order as opposed to the fear which kept a lot of us indoors (myself very much included) in March-April 2020. I took this photo at the Earl Bales Stormwater Management Pond inside North York, Toronto's Earl Bales Park which if you have been following me for a bit you are already really familiar with. I was out there again today when I went on my daily walk and the ice that now covers the pond is begining to melt so perhaps spring is about to be sprung? Have you ever received a ransom email?  📧 It happened to me 3x this week.☣️ An old LinkedIn password was in the subject line. It was scary! 👿 The email threatened to publicly release private videos of me if I didn’t pay $2K in Bitcoin! 💰 No such videos exist, but it still shook me up. 😱 I also thought: “Bitcoin? How does that work?” Imaginary exchange: 💬 ME: HELLO, CREEP, I read your email with great interest. 🎞 In the video of you have—am I doing something REALLY naughty? I can’t wait to see what you found! Are you sure it’s ME? I know you’re just trying to make a dishonest living here, but here’s a problem: I don’t know how to use Bitcoin. Can you help? 🤔 CREEP: Are you living in a cave? 🕳 Everyone knows how to use it! ME: Um, Sorry, no. No idea. 🤷🏻‍♀️ CREEP: Unbelievable. OK, I’ll make a YouTube tutorial for you & mark it “private,” then send a link. 🔗 Later— ME: Thanks for the link. The tutorial was great!
