HI SENPAI I AM HOPPING ONTO THE SNK 70 BANDWAGON: I CANNOT GET OVER HOW CONCERNED LEVI LOOKS?? IS THAT JUST ME (and eren is so troubled his eyebrows omg)
Yeah! Yeah! Join the bandwagon! Levi look kinda worried I guess, he’s frowning his brows and making a sad look. I’m curious what’s going on there.
i saw in your tags that you've done museum work? was that for a job or for your studies or just interning? and how did you get into that/apply for that? sorry if i have so many questions, it's just something i really want to get into but am clueless about. thank you!
Hello, I don't mind the questions at all.
It's a great field, I really have enjoyed making my way into it. The costume work I've done is practicum related, so both studies and internship, really. When you are in a program, it opens doors like that. The museum field is a really interesting place. It's long been a place where you could rely on an outside skill set, networking, and working your way up, but it's increasingly professionalizing. It's a sort of strange mix right now.
You definitely want to get into a program of some sort. You might consider a masters if you really want a heavyweight foundation, but a professional development program also will hold you in good stead and will get you out there with credentials. Because of the professionalization, there are a lot of programs around the country (and world) now. I'd google [your area] + 'museum studies' or 'museology' and see what comes up. If you know anyone related to the field, I'd also contact them. Or anyone who knows someone in the field, really. Start that networking early.
There's also a book that might be helpful - Life in Museums: Managing Your Museum Career. It's about $30 dollars, but you might be able to find it for less. Another idea is you might check out a conference. Seattle just hosted the AAM annual meeting and expo, and the Washington State one is coming up in June. There are many forms of regional conferences, see what is in your area.
That's a fair amount of food for thought, and if it's created any specific questions, please let me know. All that said, I think I'm going to end with the best starter advice I can give you: Volunteer! Be it at a museum or a botanical garden, perhaps even a zoo. Museums are always looking for support like that. It will allow you to get a sense of the work, and will expose you to professionals, allowing yourself to be put on their radar, and to ask them about their careers. Good luck!

i wear at least one piece of black clothing everyday
it's really gross, but i peel off skin around my fingers so they're a bloody mess all the time, i try to keep bandages around them
i'm a vegetarian, trying to be vegan
i love messy hair, and i rarely brush mine

( might be too serious and doesn't give the series enough justice, but oh well i tried )

In New York, year 1930, people bleed wine and set fire to their blood. It begins here: with a button, with a pair of thieves, with a new cammorista, and with a mad man of a vengeance.
Or maybe it begins in 1711 aboard the Advenna Avis. A storm brews overhead and demons are born. The quest for immortality has ended, but as one thirst is fulfilled another one is formed — revenge.
Or maybe it begins in 1932, when all a girl wants is to find her brother. But debts are not easily paid, and bodies are not easily forgotten.
Or maybe it begins aboard the Flying Pussyfoot in the year 1931. Myths are made, three groups happen to choose the wrong train, and blood just looks oh so pretty on white.
Or maybe it never really began, and maybe it will never really be over.
They’re all strangled by a single red string of fate, of commotion, of Baccano!
!!! This is really good!! I am putting this on the 'About' page. :D I love your writing. Also, if you don't mind, i will be adding you onto the "blog directory" page :)
