I really love that so far I’ve not seen anyone mentioning Porsche’s uncles death.
Zero grieving from the fandom, literally Spike (rip little dude) got more outpouring of grief.
There’s three lessons I’m taking from this:
1: don’t be a dirt bag
2. Speak faster when imparting important information.
3. Greed kills.
Hey! You seem pretty knowledgeable about betta, so I was wondering if you had any tips? The last time I had a fish was like, 12 years ago and I was 6. So, basically this is my first fish.
Omg Just saw This! Sorry if I’m replying kinda late. Tips:
•the bigger the tank the easier!! If you can do a 10 gallon, if not don’t fret 5 gallons is pretty good to, 2.5 to 3 gallons is the bare minimum in my opinion.
• Sachem prime (a brand of water conditioner) is your friend. To pour it to water I use a baby medicine drop thing
•API freshwater test kit is also recommended
• a sponge filter, along with tetra whisper air pump, is enough of a filter for your tank if the kit you buy does not come with one. Bettas don’t like heavy flow, so filters that hang of the back tend to create too much of a strong current for them.
•Bettas are quite resilient friends so if you impulse buy one you can definitely cycle the tank with a fish.
•what is a cycle? Well simply it is a process in which bacteria that consumes Ammonia starts colonizing in your tank! This is important since your fish poops, which turns into Ammonia. If you have a cycle you don’t need those fancy filters that require you to buy little packets every months.
•if you buy a Betta without cycling then you need to constantly be checking the Ammonia with the API test kit. ( Avoid this, it took me 4 months to properly cycle a tank with a betta in it)
• to cycle a tank the easiest thing is to throw some fish food in there once a week, and in two/ three weeks check for Nitrates (which you can do with your API test kit)
Any other questions??
