4. comforting hugs

Emira couldn't tear her eyes away from the Archdemon. She couldn't even if she tried. The loud roaring, the vibration coming from it's heavy footsteps. The heat of the fire, it's eyes.

She felt helpless, as if she'd never wake up from this. Another loud roar, loud enough to shake the ground. It looked to her.

Then she screamed, suddenly wide awake.

It seems the scream wasn't part of the nightmare, as she heard her companions muttering outside her tent.

"Shit.." She whispered to herself.

She heard footsteps coming her way. She knew it was Leliana. Of course it was. She'd recognize those footsteps anywhere.

Emira saw the tent open and tensed a little.

"Hey.." Leliana said with a soft voice "Are you alright?" She asked Emira.

The latter shrugged, wrapping her arms around her knees. She saw Leliana come into the tent, sitting next to her.

"Do you want to talk about it?" She asked "It's okay if you don't, but I'm willing to listen if you need it, love."

"I.. I don't know." Emira muttered. She couldn't even control it but right after she said that, she started crying.

Leliana wasted no time wrapping her arms around Emira.

And Emira wasted no time tightly gripping onto Leliana.

She found Leliana's hugs so comforting. Even if nothing was going on. She felt safe. Like nothing could her, as long as her lover was there.

"I'm sorry.." Emira muttered, though she admittedly didn't know what she was apologizing for.

"Shhh, it's okay." Leliana whispered soothingly. "You are so brave. And so incredibly strong. My Grey Warden."

Emira buried her head into Leliana's shoulder, muffling hear sobbing.

Leliana started humming a soft tune. She always knew that soothed Emira.

After a while the sobbing died down to soft sniffling, her body stopped shaking and she finally raised her head to look at Leliana.

"I.. I'd say 'thank you' but I don't think those words would be enough." Emira said, looking down again. "But I appreciate this. Thank you." Leliana smiled warmly, the exact smile that made Emira fall for the bard in the first place.

Leliana embraced Emira again, the latter gladly accepting the embrace.

"I'm always here for you. I know you've got a lot to deal with."

When they let go of their embrace, Emira sighed. "Could you.. tell me a story?" She asked, sort of nervously. "Since I don't think I'll sleep much tonight and I just-"

"Em you don't have to explain. I can tell you some tales."

The rest of the night was spent with them, telling each other stories. Sharing experiences or mere legends they've heard of.

It was good to know, that Leliana was there to give Emira comfort, even if she didn't fully understand the struggles Emira experiences

This was mainly to experiment on position and color. I had to separate all the pieces to get them right but the chin was stubborn and I kind of gave up on that bit...

Myrna’s is also a little more green and darker than this, but I was mostly just trying to make sure it was positioned and the file would actually work this time.

Also dammit I wish I could do a closer in-between color for her hair. The red is too bright and the auburn it just a little too brown.
