well, like M, i don't have a WIP folder; i have fandom folders, and within those, pairing folders, and within those, project folders, and within those, finished/unfinished folders. and yes, they're color-coded, because what are we, animals? (thanks, pidge!) also, i have... a lot... of WIPs. so. let's compromise: i'm also one of those people who keeps the "more active" WIPs open in tabs, so why don't i list those instead, and we'll just go from that? it should be plenty, trust me.... (i'll also include the fandom, because otherwise the titles are going to be pretty meaningless).

well, it’s 11:57 pm on the last day of november. I’ve lost the final total count, but I think that I can safely say that I made it over 40k for nanowrimo, and I wrote and posted six fics for @voltronbingo, earning myself a bingo. I also wrote a fic for @sheithsecretsanta, have two more holiday fics solidly underway, and have three fics that I nearly finished to make a second bingo.

I’ll admit to some mixed feelings about all of this.

it’s definitely the most creatively productive period I’ve had in years and years, continuing a theme that’s been present since the end of July where I write and write and just keep writing. It feels good - it feels really good - but I’m aware that I have a bit of an obsessive personality with a streak of mania (or something, idk what to call it), so I do have to be careful that writing fic is not becoming just literally my entire world, which is kind of a bummer. I’ve also only just realized in the last week or so that part of the reason that I have all this time and energy to put into writing this much these days is that we put our sick, old, cat who was taking literal hours of care every day (not to mention the emotional and mental bandwidth of dealing with him) to sleep back in June, and... since he’s gone, I can do things again. This is, of course, bittersweet. 

There’s also a part of my janky brain that feels like I’ve failed: I didn’t make it to 50k. I didn’t get that second bingo. I could have- I was real close, but I’ve been feeling half-sick on and off for a couple weeks now (dunno if it’s too much turkey or what), and this week my anxiety decided to flare up with a vengeance, which means I’ve been clinging to functionality rather than trying to push myself to do optional things. But, I was close, and I didn’t get there, ergo- it feels like failure. 

What can you do? Bodies suck and brains are weird.

I could use the encouragement, because I’m sure the temptation will be to ignore them in favor of other projects that have either deadlines or are shinier, but I don’t really want to leave them unfinished and alone.

hello, yes, it’s 1:30 in the morning and it’s my birthday and i just posted 4k of intense sheith angst that i coughed up literally since 4 pm this afternoon in between feeding the cat and getting new ink, and that makes something like 8k in the last 48 hours and 17k in the last, like, week and a half? two weeks? which is amazing and also a little terrifying, but i’ll take it i guess. go me.
