For all I know, this still hangs in the Joynt on Water Street in Eau Claire, WI. Thinking of this after watching the Barbie movie recap, yet not resolve, a whole bunch of stuff I was thinking about in the '90's re: gender, sex, feminism, behaviorism, verbal behavior, creating community in the context of diversity, even the Balkan wars (remember those?) -- and friends asking, over pitchers and cribbage a one of the bay window tables at The Joynt (80 cent taps of Berghoff dark!) -- " what 'cha thinking about" and having to point at Mr Natural, because what was I going to say?

Writing papers for uni has become so much more infuriating since 2022 because of the fucking AI spellcheck!! Just let me write words!! I did not mean "all intensive purposes", I definitely wrote "all intents and purposes", because that's the real phrase!!! Stop trying to edit my words you infuriating little machine!! How is this better than what we had before??

Rant #1 - On how a question is asked.

Alright, so here's the thing world. HOW you ask a question matters as much as what you're asking and what you seek to know. What do I mean by this?

Don't lead your question with "Am I the only one that-". The answer is immediately no, there are 8 billion people on the planet, or nearly so, do you REALLY think you'd be the only one?

The same applies to "Does anyone else think-" and other variations. Even if you're 1 in a million there are 8000 others like you, the chances of it being a unique thought or question are slim.

Better choices: "Who else thinks that-" "How many of you-" or other such more open ended openings to a question.

And yes, I know I'm an old man shouting at clouds. That's kind of the point of this space for me.

Has the youtube video player changed for anyone else? I’m watching an old film and the entire video player has shrunk to the same size as the film’s res and its weird... now instead of black bars on either side, there two very off putting white bars... :/

Christ all mighty. Ao3 is completely broken for me. I can't use the rich text editor, I can't use the html editor. It's logging me out randomly. I know my kindle hasn't had any software updates since the beginning of July, which leads me to believe that ao3 did something on their end and now I'm just fucked. I tried sending a bug report but got logged out of that randomly only to find out my message did go through, but without half of the details. *[Throws hands in air]* Even the shitty tumblr app is better than ao3 right now. I just want to check on my account, make an update, read some fics, but I can't even do that. I would give up my wonky left foot for a laptop right now. To make matters worse, Word is fucking useless on the kindle, so here I sit, twiddling my thumbs. Waaaaaaah. Waah-wah-wah.
