some days ago I made a gifsets with the mountain scene™ with a quote from the book. i am a very weird person, and i sometimes need to know that people like what I do, so I usually stalk go and look at the reblogs tags.
and a lot, I mean, a lot of people in the tags said mean things to the characterization of netfilx!geralt. and it made me so, so sad. because I love netfilx!geralt. he isn’t the same as the books, I know. book!geralt is slightly more open with his feelings, especially towards dandelion, than netflix!geralt (and also, remember that the games are “in the future”, so game!geralt has more experience than netflix!geralt, and also it depends on how you choose to play him. game!geralt can be very very mean to dandelion if you choose to do that! he helps him, saves him and whatever, and still be mean to him. rings a bell? yes. like netflix!geralt.)
anyway, I am here to say that you all shouldn’t hate netflix!geralt, because in my opinion his characterization works. we all saw his past, and we all know about the abuses, we all know how people treat him. he’s probably the most human out there, and he acts like one, he makes mistakes, he gets mad at his friends, he’s heartbroken, he runs away from problems. as we all do.
okay, he said some mean things to jaskier. book!geralt would never have said that. so? he’ll learn from his mistakes, like everyone else. whatever netflix decides to make them meet, whatever nexflix chooses if there will be forgiveness and sorrys or leave it like this, it doesn’t matter. i like, i love netflix!geralt. and I dare to say that he’s characterization is more deep than in the books.
here’s my tea. have fun. sorry.
