Has your opinion on Adrien gotten worse over time?

Yes.

He was a good kid. My dislike of his creators originally soured my opinion of him, but he was still a good kid who had flaws and had room to get better. By the end of season 3, I could say that I enjoyed some of his salt fics, but most were too OOC. In fact, if a fanfic said or implied that "Adrien didn't care about saving people because the Miraculous Cure brought them back", that was my metric of if it was in character or not. Because back then? That was out of character for Adrien.

Then he killed that girl in the NY Special.

And I went, okay, she was a robot, she was fine. Maybe it isn't canon--

Then he tried to kill Alya when she was Scarabella.

Then he tried to get civilians akumatized.

I don't know a lot about seasons 4 or 5, but at some point, you have to realize that it's not going to get better. The creators made Adrien make these choices, the creators believe these choices were the right decision and have stated that Adrien is "perfect" so why would they ever address these actions as wrong? Adrien is growing worse as a character, but the show acts like he's the same boy from episode 1.

He was a good kid. I don't know who he got replaced with, but I don't like him.

Me: Maybe I will watch all of Game of Thrones and not stop after season seven. Season eight surely can't be as bad as I remember, right?

Season Eight:

*wastes Lena Headey's talents by having her stand on a balcony for most of the season*

*neither Sansa nor Arya are in any way likeable, and just about every fan favourite has been similarly butchered*

*nuking Jaime and Brienne's relationship about five minutes after making it romantic*

*the mess that Gendrya became*

And, perhaps worst of all,

*Nuking Daenerys's eight seasons of character development in order to rush an invalid and misogynistic conclusion, and to fuel Jon and Tyrion's man-pain as they plan to (as Lindsay Ellis put it) "put her down like Old Yeller."

I swear to god the finale brought so much fuckin discord, and here I thought that Starco, Jarco, Tomstar, and Kellco being mishandled more than a box labeled with ‘fragile’ was the worst set of 4d chess moves I have ever seen in my life but nooooo, this shit was terrible and there’s no exact way to explain it. It felt like the writers just packed their shit up and left with the studio on fire while we frantically tried to douse the flames with waterbuckets. No wonder we got so attached to the au’s and fanfiction, it was the only place where we could get some peace and consistency in this crackhouse.

All the Miraculous from the Chinese box (including the Ladybug, Black Cat, and the five others) have the thing they represent end in -ion. Creation, destruction, evolution, transformation.

However, the Eagle Miraculous is the Miraculous of Freedom. So wouldn’t that indicate that in the Native American box, all those Miraculouses’ representations end in -om or -dom?

I wonder how much projection happens with character salt. 

Lila hits differently when you, as an individual, knew someone who lied a lot, even about you. Or if your friends stopped hanging out with you for someone else.

Has a best friend betrayed you, or disregarded your feelings towards something important, or just dropped you to make another best friend? Then your personal feelings will impact your interpretation of Alya. 

Is there a guy who won’t take no for an answer? Then Adrien’s behavior as Chat Noir is worse since you know how that feels. 

These characters are so... well, generic that it’s easy to project onto them. I see traits of my old elementary school bully in Chloe, because Chloe is the generic rich bully character. 

This projection isn’t bad; our experiences color how we see all media, not just salt. Nor am I trying to disregard the very real racism and sexism that exists in the mlb fandom. But I would like to know how much of salt exists because we, writers and readers of salt, want to get back at the real people who hurt us.

Miraculous would be a lot more interesting if there were more villains besides Hawkmoth. 

Sure, it’s got the “villain of the week” format down already, but all the villains are akumas, which are basically extensions of Hawkmoth. Akumas might have whatever upset them in the first place, but 1) they play second fiddle to gaining the Miraculous, and 2) those motives can be really f-ing petty, and not supervillain worthy at all. 

It’s always the same guy in the end. It’s like Scooby Doo, but every time the gang pulls off a mask, it’s the a-hole from their first case, using similar plans over and over for the same reason. That’s not entertaining. 

What I wouldn’t give to see Ladybug and Chat Noir have to face off against actual supervillains, international thieves, d-bags who won the genetic lottery and decide to hurt people.
