ADVENT 2018

I know, I know...we left without a trace or goodbye message and you all probably hate us for it. We're totally and absolutely sorry! 

Both Lein and I had a very very busy year. Loads of things have changed (I have a new job and now 2,5 hours of traveling each day, Lein got more responsibilities at hers), loads of things have happened and we both wanted to focus more on reading (my reading goal for 2018 is 200 books and I'M GETTING THERE!), on writing original stories (you can check them out on Annannette on Wattpad or follow the links on my personal tumblr @acourtofhopeanddreams) and on fanfic.

But...Each and every day we still get new followers, reblogs, comments on Wattpad, likes and messages.We're so thankful that even after all this time, our stories still resonate with people. 

So...I wanted to do something, just something small, to make sure that showandwrite doesn't completely cease to exist.

I will be doing an ADVENT 2018 project! From December 1st to December 31st I will post one imagine/drabble/fanfic a day and YOU are gonna decide what I'll write!

The rules:

I will write for all characters from Teen Wolf, The Vampire Diaries, the Originals, Riverdale and Shadowhunters. For Game of Thrones I will allow myself to be a little more selective, but please, request them and we'll see! (I'm afraid no the 100...that muse is totally absolutely fully gone...)

Each character can be requested only once (so we end up with 31 different characters and hopefully a lot of people with one something they like)

Requests are open from now until I have requests for 31 different characters, so...first come first serve!

Every sort of request is welcome! You can come up with a prompt, a sentence, a song, a word, a poem, a book, an AU, whatever. All the pairings however have to be reader/character. (If you want me to write a fanfic, feel always free to go to @acourtofhopeanddreams and send me a message there ;-))

I write for all genders and sexualities. I will however NOT write homosexual characters in heterosexual relationships.

And I guess...that's about it! I didn't tell Lein about this, so I have NO clue if she's gonna be in or not. If not, you'll be stuck with just me ;-) I know that this post is VERY early. But...this way I have the time to write those 31 imagines and get them ready before it's time to post them!

Are you familiar with 5 Seconds of Summer? Because I love your Teen Wolf ships and and I was curious if you'd do something like that for 5SOS.

Hey Hi!

Thank you so much for the huge compliments! That really means a lot to me, because it’s the first time ever I’m doing ships and it sometimes makes me a little bit nervous if I do alright! So thank you a lot. (For people who want to check my ships out: shipandwrite)

However, I won’t be doing those ships for 5SOS. Firstly because I know next to nothing about the band (and I’m not really interested in learning more ;-)), but secondly because I’m totally against shipping with REAL people. 

For me real people have their own lives, are their own person. I don’t want to write about real people, their love life, or something like that. (At least, not in public.) I’m okay with writing about fictional characters, but not with writing about real persons. That’s a personal choice and feeling and people are of course allowed to disagree. 

So, even if I was familiar with the band, I wouldn’t be writing ships for them. The band-members are real persons and I leave it up to them and only them to ship themselves with other people.

I'm so envious of your showandwrite blog! I write Teen Wolf things as well and have found that gaining an audience is really difficult. You and your friend, however, seem to have no trouble with it! Do you have any tips that you'd care to share?

Hi! Do we have any tips to share... to be honest, we are still amazed by how big and enthousiastic our audience has become, it's something we absolutely didn't expect to happen, and it's still a big surprise to see what's happening. 

What did we do to gain that audience? We make sure to write a lot, we try to publish consequently 4 to 5 stories a day, and usually we manage to do that. We tag consequently, and logical, so also people who don't follow us can find our stories in the tags of their character or tv-show. We never tag with actor's names, because we write about the characters, not the actors. And what might be logical, we try to keep the character in character, don't write them completely OOC, even if that would make a story fluffier or cuter or something like that.

If you want, you can send an non-anon ask to the blog so we can check out your blog, maybe send in some request so you have something to start with and get into the relevant tags, and maybe put a link in our other writers page. And what is the most important thing for us... have fun in what you're doing, write because you like what you are writing and not because you want to get more followers or more notes. We also have stories in other fandomsn than Teen Wolf that barely get notes, but we keep writing them because we like to write them, or because one or two requesters still like them. Let having fun in writing be your main motive, not gaining a huge audience (the last part would be a nice side-effect).
