The twisted game of hide and seek worked wonders when attempting to reinvent history. Because accountability was too much to process, the psyche ran the shut down protocol. As seasons changed and life continued, new opportunities to escape the grasp of shortcomings realized arose with all their promises. Yet, the storms would come and wash away what was built upon unsure foundations. With fuel run out, my heart was exposed to the bright lights illuminating the flaws surrounding my efforts. Recognizing the inconsistencies, it’s been impossible to deny how damaging self-sabotage has been to others. It’d be nice to make the fiction functional, but the laws of existence will never excuse what’s fake. To harbor such negativity, blame won’t solve stubborn denial.
