Fandom Meme: Megaman! (General or a specific series, your pick!)

I’m going Classic since that’s the original one I loved when I was younger. The first character I first fell in love with: Crash Man. Dumb idiot kid with bombs and a fierce temper? Yeah, that how it started. Thanks very much to Dracozombie for enabling that.

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Sunstar/Sungod. I didn’t care much about him and the Stardroids and then like I suddenly did. Even more now that I’ve played Monolith and now have an appreciation for Danmaku Sungod.

The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Proto Man. Like this is mainly pre Archie for me. I NEVER liked Proto Man due to his personality and people just adored him. Archie Comics has since then alleviated this; ESPECIALLY backing him with Tempo, speaking of which...

The character I love that everyone else hates: Quake Woman/Tempo. There’s still a lot of dislike for the “Archie Original Character” and I saw it a lot early on. I’m sure now people have warmed up to her a lot but yeah.

The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Shadow Man. He was super cool, and I fell out of obsessing over him. That’s alleviated a bit, again, thanks to Archie Comics giving him some sort of a better/coherent backstory.

The character I would totally smooch: Tundra Man. Is ANYBODY surprised about this?

The character I’d want to be like: Dr. Light, honestly. I wanna be a cool genius scientist. The character I’d slap: Dr. Wily cause... Wily. A pairing that I love: With the exception of OC/Canon ships, I do sort of ship Tempo/Blues (them being quite on the young side makes me ship them more platonically though), I also hardcore ship Gyro/Tornado, and I may have a soft spot for Tundra/Metal. A pairing that I despise: Rock/Roll. Actually make that ANYBODY with Rock. He’s a kid. Let him be a kid. Or actually double that up, Roll with anybody else as well. Basically any kid if it’s not a familial or platonic relationship. Do not ship the kids.

7. What is your favourite sentence/paragraph? Read it to us!

Oh boy. I have so many fics to choose from, so in the interest of saving us time, I’m going to pick my favourite sentence/paragraph from my most recent fic, Parting Gift.

“Humans were so fond of “logic” as a concept. They clung to it desperately as though the moment their grasp loosened “logic” would slip through their fingers, disappearing beneath their feet, lost forever. “Logic” was a source of pride for humans, something they hoisted and toted around like a golden prize. When something or someone didn’t possess “logic” they’d use monikers such as “beast”, “monster”, or “rabid”. To them, anything without “logic” was inhuman, not on their level, as though they were on top of the world and nothing could touch them. As if human “logic” was the golden standard for all living things. “Logic” was nothing more than a measurement created by humans for humans. How arrogant to use their scale on other living creatures and then proclaim loudly that something was below them. After all, what were human measurements and scales to a god except pitiful shackles that bound and constricted?”

This is honestly the first thing I thought of before I started writing this fic. I thought of the opening line about “logic” and Anankos scoffing “Human Logic” as I was making tea before writing. I also love this paragraph because it’s Anankos being a hypocrite. He’s the arrogant one here and his arrogance is showing! Hubris and pride will ultimately be his downfall and in this paragraph he’s definitely being prideful!

12. What head canons will you keep implementing in your fics, even if canon ends up contradicting it?

14. What trope would you refuse to write even if you were paid to do it?

There are a lot of tropes I don’t want to write but the two main ones I’d out right Refuse are: Rape/Sexual Assault/One party underage and the other Very Clearly an Adult, and High School AU. The first one I think is self explanatory. The second one is because I just am at the age where I have Zero Interest in writing high school AU (and sometimes to a degree I don’t want to write College/University AU but that’s debatable because if it’s in the background I don’t mind it).

The first character I first fell in love with: Rock himself! Baby boy. Baby. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Ring Man, largely in part due to RP. He never stood out to me that much until @omnicenos started writing him and Ilya gravitated to him, but know im love he The character everyone else loves that I don’t: I don’t think there is one? I mean. I see a lot of hype for Snake Man who I’m fairly meh about but that’s the closest... The character I love that everyone else hates: I don’t know if there’s a universally hated character? I know Kalinka doesn’t get nearly the attention she deserves and I absolutely love her... but I don’t think she’s hated per se, just overlooked. The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Can’t think of any... it helps that the vast majority of characters have just a few traits and from there they’re whatever you want, probably. The character I would totally smooch: Gospel, on his forehead. He’s a good pupper.  The character I’d want to be like: No single one. But as cool as Blues, as cute as Roll, and as sweet as Rock! The character I’d slap: I... can’t think of any. I mean, several characters could use a good whack upside the head now and again (Forte, Wily, Blues) but... none I actually feel aggressive about! A pairing that I love: Blues/Plant Man. Again due to RP but... they’re cute. A pairing that I despise: Ehhhh. Aside from the Obvious Contenders I occasionally see Blues/Forte and that’s a nah for me. I don’t actually despise it it just... doesn’t work for me. (imo Blues would be Forte’s really annoying friend and Forte would be Blues’ friend he loves to annoy, but I can’t see anything other than that.)

I guess the good thing about the fandom being quiet is that I'm not running into Lan/Hub smut every time I turn around, yikes.

Transparents for the sprites used as my avatar (plus bonus Ivory and Chalk from the family tree and yes she gets glasses later). These were all made by the wonderfully talented @shreedle and she deserves praise and love for these. Also if you want to use these sprites you have to ask both of us for permission, we’re both aware of how easy it is to steal sprites these days, especially that Dark Meta Knight one. That was for an art trade. Also yes I’ll get post replies eventually I’m sort of running low since I did that massive posting festival on Friday and I’d like to show off arts and NPCs.

OTP/Pairing Meme: Anankos/Laslow (or Trio in general, your choice) for G, T, U.

Thank you so much for this ask!!! I’m super happy to see you ask this ship! I’m going to talk about Anankos/Trio just because my headcanons blend together with all three of them.

7 (G). Favourite headcanon trope/idea (Your own or someone else’s)?

My favourite headcanon trope/idea for Anankos/Laslow(Trio) is “Supernatural entity that becomes obsessed/enamoured/possessive with the Regular Humans whether they Want it Or Not.” It works so well with Anankos too since he’s a Fell Dragon and that means all of his logic/rationing is out the window. It’s super niche but it’s one I adore writing and sometimes if you want a Specific Trope sometimes you have to write it yourself.

20 (T). What made you decide to ship them?

A big reason why I ended up shipping them is because of the DLC. I kept thinking about how Human!Anankos picked the Trio up from the Awakening world. Then, when they arrive in Valla they have to fight forces from Dragon!Anankos to get out of there. That dynamic plus my love of the trope stated above and it got me to start shipping Anankos/Trio. (Basically, I needed Possessive dynamic in my fics and Anankos/Trio fit the bill.)

21 (U). Favourite genre for them? (Angst, fluff, etc.)

I like angst! I like the idea of the Trio being Very Drawn Into Anankos but they Know It’s Bad. Yet, like a moth to a flame they can’t entirely stop Anankos and his Smooches. 

(I also like Smug! God Anankos showering the Slightly Reluctant Trio with Affection, Kisses, and other things -eye emoji-. Such as how I wrote them in this fic HERE.)
