Yes I think a lot of people are just surprised by the very different tone the show has than most popular animes. Like it reminds me of studio ghibli movies kind of?? It’s lacks in fast-paced action but its philosophical and moving and brilliant

yeah and im trying my darndest not to be elitist or snobby about liking this anime because i love ALL KINDS OF ANIME especially the goofy colorful ones. this ones just different! and i feel like it doesnt get the attention it deserves, especially when stuff like studio ghibli is so well recieved

mmm yes yes good. this news is honestly the best news ive gotten so far this year by far. and now i shall shamelessly continue to push this show onto every single one of my friends

yeah yeah ive tried showing it to my friends too and i feel like its not... something a lot of people are into..... because when i tell them the premise it seems like they expect something... else? and it makes me sad because its not supposed to be anything close to your typical anime like what, say, tengen toppa gurren lagan is, or naruto or bleach or something. and that disconnect is probably... disappointing? if its an anime recommendation in particular. idk i cant speak for those people so idk if they were actually disappointed but

and even for me as someone who loves it already, it feels weird to be excited about it because 'exciting' is not the word id use to describe it. 'good storytelling'? 'interesting'? both are yes! but not 'energetic' or 'bright/bold', which is what lots of anime is. but for all that understatedness, its got lots of heart and soul whereas the 'louder' stuff might not, which is why i will 100% include it in any list of recs for people looking to watch anime
