Ivy’s Fakemon - Shrowl and Sound-Type
If I were to add a new Pokemon type, I always figured Sound-Type was the most logical. There are a ton of sound-based moves already and a handful of existing Pokemon have mechanics that revolve around sound. Shrowl was meant to be the Sound-Type poster child. It is a Sound/Flying Type based on screech owls, and is able to paralyze foes with an ear-splitting shriek. The pattern on its chest is intended to resemble sound waves, but if I were to freshen up the design I’d want to push that detail a little more.
Sound-Type itself, while attacking, is super-effective against Water and Grass-Type Pokemon, and not every effective against Flying, Rock, Steel, and Electric-Types. Defending it is resistant to Water, Grass, and Sound-Type attacks, and weak to Flying and Electric-Type attacks. Most sound-based moves would become Sound-Type, and the ability Soundproof would make a Pokemon immune to Sound-Type attacks.
Existing Pokemon that might become Sound-Type are as follows:
Zubat line - Poison/Sound
Whismur line - Sound
Kricketot line - Bug/Sound
Chingling line - Psychic/Sound
Chatot - Sound/Flying
Meloetta - Sound/Psychic and Sound/Fighting, depending on forme
Noibat line - Sound/Dragon
