For this task, you are going to be creating a playlist for your character! Simple enough, right? What you need to do is select 5-10 songs that you feel either relate to your character or are songs your character would enjoy. You also need to include a brief explanation as to why you selected each song for that character (1-3 sentences is all we’re asking for!). We also highly encourage you to create “album artwork” or a cover for your playlist, however this is NOT mandatory!
You can format this task post HOWEVER you’d like! Let your creativity flow with this one! We figured after all the long writing tasks we’d give you one that's simple yet effective! You will be awarded 250pts for each playlist you make. Also, you are only allowed to make ONE playlist a character! This task will be due January 30th!
Please remember to message THIS BLOG when you have completed the task and make sure it is tagged correctly! #SHRPGTASK25 is the tag for this task! :)
If you have received this letter, it means one of three things.
The staff has overviewed your most recent evaluation and believe you are fit to go back to society and return home, as treatment here at Serenity House will no longer benefit you.
The staff has overviewed your most recent evaluation and believe you would be best suited to continue treatment in a different, more strict and intensive center named Brielle Institute, located in the state of Oregon or another undecided institute.
You are a staff member who has been considered for a new position at Brielle Institute.
Either way, if you have received this letter...it means you are leaving Serenity House. We understand this may be overwhelming and confusing for you, but we assure you this decision was made in your best interest. Doctor Holmes only wants what is best for the patients here and Serenity House is no longer able to keep up with the vast influx of patients and the controversy that has littered it’s name.
Any questions can be sent to Dr. Holmes.
Thank you.
This is the last task of Serenity House. It is meant to be a time filler for the moment being until the admins finish prepping Brielle for opening. It is up to you whether your character will be moving over to Brielle, going home, going to different institute, etc. Let this be a time for characters to say goodbye, plan for the future and get ready for the transition over to the new rp.
Thank you guys so much for absolutely everything. Tag your starters to #shrpggoodbye <3
2. Who, or what, is your character most thankful for? Why are they so thankful for them/it? What significance does this person/thing have in your characters life? What would life be like without it?
Demi threw herself on her bed after breakfast. It was Thanksgiving and she was stuck here, in Serenity, rather than at home with the people who loved her. She closed her eyes, rolling up into a ball, facing against the cold wall. Momentarily, it was the most isolated she had felt since her arrival. She couldn’t face the fact that she was not at home with her mom; even if she did spend most of her time searching for a reason to not be home, and therefore didn’t make much effort with any of the other patients. The fact that she isolated herself from everybody else made her really question herself today. Normally Demi felt love in herself, but how was she supposed to love herself when her parents weren’t there to do it today? On one of the most important days of the year.
Trying to shake herself out of her bad mood, she rolled around on her bed, grunting and moaning to force the bad thoughts out of her head. She suddenly sat up and wandered to the window where she could see the courtyard below. There was something about the courtyard that gave her an escape. Maybe it was the trees blowing. The energy they had gave her that little bit of hope she needed. The energy they had reminded her of her mom. She was the most important person in Demi’s life.
No matter how tough things got after school; Demi’s mother was there to pick her up, especially at the beginning of college when things begun to go downhill. No matter what, her mother gave her some sense of hope and tried to make her feel beautiful everyday, through the smallest of gestures. This, Demi was thankful for. Her mom had always taught her to love herself. And without those words of wisdom, she would not be the person she was today. Perhaps, she wouldn’t have her disorder, but that isn’t what matters. What matters to her, is that her mom always put the love and care in to ensure that her little girl was happy.
Hello lovelies! For this Turkey Day task, we’re going to be giving you a list of writing prompts to choose from! It’s going to be entirely up to you what kind of route you take your response to the task down and it’s a great way to get lots of points by doing what we do best- writing!
You can do as many or as little prompts as you want! Each prompt you do is going to be worth 550 points! They must be at least 20 sentences long (a little over 300 words) and they must be tagged SHRPGTASK23! Also make sure you copy the prompt you did/number of that prompt and include it somewhere in your task post!
These are your prompts options:
Imagine your character never, ever came to Serenity and was still at home for the holiday. What would Thanksgiving be like for them back in their ‘normal’ life? Who would be there? What would they be eating? Where would Thanksgiving dinner be held?
Who, or what, is your character most thankful for? Why are they so thankful for them/it? What significance does this person/thing have in your characters life? What would life be like without it?
Imagine your character is watching Thanksgiving from an outside perspective and seeing what the holiday is like without them. (This is more definitely more patient driven- but it can also work for staff members who are far from home/on-campus!). How would they feel watching the holiday being celebrated without them?
What is your character’s ideal Thanksgiving? Who would be sitting at the table? What would they be eating? How would they be celebrating the Holidays?
All task posts must be done, posted, and tagged by November 29th! Remember; You can do as many or as little prompts as you want! You will receive points for EACH prompt you do! Happy Thanksgiving, Serenity!
For this task, you will be writing an in character task that will involve a partner! More specifically, another character within the RP. It would be set in an alternate universe, or rather your character in their regular life, pretending that they weren’t in Serenity and they likely had no reason to be there either. They will come into contact with another character from the RP, whether it be from afar, or a direct interaction. It can be set in the past, present, or future-- whatever you think suits best, just be sure to clarify it in some way in your task.
Where is your character? Why are they there? What year is it? What is the purpose of them being at that location? What are they doing? How do they see the other character? What does the other character look like? What’s their reason for being there? Does your character approach them, do they speak? What do they say, why? What’s the tone of the conversation? Remember, you can only see from your characters point of view. Or do they keep the distance and say nothing? Why? What are they thinking during this time? How does the scene end? What does your character think of the encounter?
Please note that there are some rules for this task; each character may only be written about (used as the muse) once, and it must be posted with the other mun’s approval of their character being used, and of the finished product. In addition, their character may not write about yours.
For example, my character is Bob, and Bob is writing this task about his AU-type interaction with Joe. I, as Bob’s mun, must have permission from Joe’s mun to use him as the other character. I must also send them the final thing before it is posted, and have their permission to post it publicly (to make sure they think it makes sense with how their character would look/act/interact). Once it is posted publicly and tagged accordingly, no one else may post about their character’s interaction with Joe for this task, and Joe’s mun may not write about an interaction with Bob, my character, for Joe’s task. ((Highly recommended you put the other character’s name in the title!))
This task must be 25 sentences minimum, and will be worth 500pts. It will be due by Wednesday, June 22nd 2016 at 11:59pm EST; please tag it as SHRPGTASK21 if you wish to receive points!!
On her way back to her apartment, Asia had picked up a small packet from the front desk. She hadn’t received anything since she started her internship there, so who could possibly be sending her something? And, what was it?? Throwing her keys on the couch, Asia opened the packet, revealing a CD. Seeing that it was 2016 and CD players were all but irrelevant, the brunette opened up her laptop and the disk drive, popping it in. While it was loading, she figured she could take off her jacket, get her things together.... but the minute she heard her mom’s voice, everything stopped.
There was no question about it, no doubt in her mind. The last time Asia heard from her mother was 4 years ago, and the time before that Asia was merely 11. Was everything okay? Asia asked in her head as she rushed back over to her computer. Her mother had been very clear before; don’t do anything big, don’t cause any unnecessary attention towards yourself that could get you deported.... and yet here was her mother, in her bronzed glory, being filmed on camera, and a video being sent to her daughter in a separate country. If her mother was going to this length to reach her, it had to be for a good reason. Was she sick? Was she in trouble? Her mother seemed so content and calm, but Asia couldn’t tell whether or not that was a facade. Was she being forced to record this?
She sat down on her bed, staring at the screen and soaking up every word that escaped her breath in her sweet, sweet accent. Asia had grown up since she was taken from her mother, she was a tough girl who knew how to take care of herself. But something like this.... it made her revert back to that 11 year old girl who was taken by the police, that little girl her mother spoke of that loved her dolls... where had that girl gone? Years of being on her own and in foster care had made her strong, not always in the best of ways. She wasn’t one to show emotion, and yet here she was hugging a pillow, tears clinging to her dark lashes without her even noticing. Her mother had missed so much, while simultaneously causing her own daughter so much pain with her absence. The young woman’s emotions were so mixed; happy and excited to see her mother, but concerned, worried-- angered, even. She knew it wasn’t entirely her mother’s fault, but from Asia’s point of view her mom hadn’t exactly fought for her either. There was a reason Asia was as independent as she was, a reason she had gotten into some trouble when she was a teenager... and it wasn’t because her mom or dad were there to provide her with awesome advice and guidance.
The screen faded, and suddenly Asia became aware of the moisture on her cheeks. She brought the palm’s of her hands up to her face, wiping them away slowly. She had built up so many walls and in a short video one woman who she barely knew and torn them down, wrecked them all. Asia was better than this, but she couldn’t deny the emotions she was feeling. Would she even be able to go into work tomorrow...? That’s how intense it had been for her mind. All she wanted right now was to be alone, figure this out by herself.
