btw i didnt say anything about it at the time cause i didnt want to pause the episode too much and i was almost done for the night, but i find whites idea of pinks behavior so interesting.

she cant possibly even consider the fact that pink genuinely loved and cared for and fit in with "lesser beings", only that someone as grand as a diamond would do such a thing to be "the best of the worst"

obviously we know otherwise, or at least i hope we (the audience) know otherwise lol, i doubt it with some people.

pink, just like every other gem around her, did not fit her assigned purpose. she lacked the complete and total apathy needed to colonize. she saw beauty in organic life and she couldnt imagine wanting to take it away forever. then she saw other gems who also didnt fit their mold. she saw a place where she belonged much more than the lonely seat of being a diamond.

but to someone like white, there was no reason for her to consider this. whites narrow worldview couldnt comprehend that her "perfect" empire was so flawed that even a diamond would desperately grasp at escaping it. she knew that pink was struggling to find equality with the other diamonds, so where would she go? to be somewhere where she was above everyone else instead of below them. to make up for her percieved shortcomings by overcompensating. by continuing to be a diamond in a different way.

and to white, this was just one long, long game. because she couldnt concieve that pink ever meant it seriously, that it was ever real. because that would mean that everything she carefully built for thousands upon thousands of years was so flawed that a diamond wanted out just that badly. that a diamond didnt even fit the mold.

obv she finds out that she, too, doesnt even fit the mold she created for herself. she sees just how real that pinks choices were when its shown that pink is truly gone forever, and only steven remains. and when shes called out for acting immature at this reveal, she gets embarassed, and changes color. shes no longer monotone like a gem should be, like she should be. she turns a little pink.

of course she had to start coming to terms with things like pinks choices and behavior when she had to come to terms with herself lol.

i dressed up snazzy today, just to go get dogfood.  woke up feeling really anxious, but dressing nice helped.  made coffee when i got home and sat outside, writing and reading a webcomic for a while.

now i’m chilling inside, bc i got chilly.  the dogs are snoring on the floor next to the big red chair, and muse’s last album is surprisingly soothing to me right now.  

things.  are pretty okay.
