Okay, this is a random question, but does anyone know the name of that one shuffling technique (if it's even a real technique) that shows up in almost every casino scene ever? It's where the dealer lays the cards in a line on the table, runs a finger over them somehow flipping them over or something, and bam, cards are shuffled. Anyone? How To Shuffle a Deck of cards like a man

Shuffling a deck of cards is a skill that in my opinion every man should have, I don’t know about you but I always thought of good card shufflers as cool men. You can use this skill when playing poker with friends, during a fun game with your girl or while playing cards with your kids. Having this skill also helps you in your card magic tricks.

The different methods of card shuffling

In this tutorial we will be covering all of these methods:

The Overhand Shuffle

The Hindu Shuffle

The Weave Shuffle

The Riffle Shuffle

  The Overhand Shuffle

Being the mostly used by beginners, the overhand shuffle is an open & casual way of shuffling a deck of cards.

The Technique

Hold the deck by its sides using your thumb on one side & your middle + ring finger on the other side

The Thumb of the right hand should now rest on top of the deck while the rest of your fingers should slightly rest on the back of the deck.

Now with your left hand, you should lift up the cards while holding some with your right hand’s thumb

Remove the thumb from the deck of cards while moving back your left hand back down

Repeat this a couple of times

Remember to have a light touch while using this technique to shuffle the deck of cards.

The Hindu Shuffle

This shuffle is quite is easy to perform & you will probably use it all the time once you get a hang of it.

The Technique

With the left hand, Hold the deck by its end with the thumb & middle finger while optionally holding the back of the deck with your index finger for more support

Using your right hand’s thumb & index finger hold the side of the deck from underneath.

With the right hand take a few packets of cards from the top of the deck.

Put these removed cards on top of your right hand palm.

Repeat from step 2-4 while the deck is shuffle enough.

The Weave Shuffle

This shuffle is quite easy to learn & makes a good shuffle as well.

The Technique

Hold the cards by the edge & using the thumb separate around half of the deck

Align the separated pack of cards with the remaining half by their top/bottom

Weave(Interlace) the cards together by the edges

Push the cards slightly together

Bend the cards so the pressure is released & they mix together

Square up the cards

The Riffle Shuffle

This is the shuffle I personally like most, it looks extremely impressive while shuffling the deck perfectly.

The Technique

Using both hands, hold the deck of cards – by the edges & top

Using the Thumb riffle half of the deck away.

Now hold the 2 separate pack of cards in different hands

Hold the packet of cards as if you’re holding a Game console Controller having the fingers underneath your thumb

Now hold the packets close to each other, bend the cards & while releasing slowly the cards should intercept with each other

Square up the deck

Optionally do these steps again as necessary
