So since the hat is apart of Hearth yet it also can get lost too. Can someone lets say take the little hat make a fake one same size and color give it too him. Before he can make a new one of course. How would he react?

He can always tell if its his or not. Both consciously and unconsciously in the process that decides a new one needs to be made.

I’ve shown that when he’s got the hat in one of the correct locations (on the little man’s person, on the hat rack) it feels right - a simulacrum wouldn’t give him the “everything is in the correct place” sensation.

A replacement might be somewhat comforting until he’s got the real thing in his hands again, like how a bandaid feels nice but your skin still heals under it. He’d unceremoniously trash it the instant he had the real thing though.
