Were Hyssop’s venom glands affected by the accident at all? When he’s stressed, does steam come out of the split in his face too?

The incident that split his face also damaged the muscles involved in controlling venom release and swelling in the area damaged the glands themselves, causing his body to leak venom into his wounds. So they removed them.

While the magic causing the problems solved a lot of the issues in his face it didn't restore his venom glands so he still doesn't have them.

Most don't notice, not only because there's so much else strange about him, but because his general demeanor makes it seem like he's simply never felt threatened or angry enough to display venom steam.

Is it dangerous or unsafe to wake an hibernating Dryad?

The reason dryads have to hibernate in the winter is because the tree they're bonded to is netting them a lot less magic, because it has dropped its leaves. It's basically a calorie conservation mode to deal with limited resources.

When a dryad is woken up from hibernation it can cause them to expend more of their limited energy reserves. How much danger they are in because of an awakening depends on how long they were awake, if they were made to move a lot and if they were scared.

Small awakenings, especially if they didn't move much, are usually not an issue - but if they woke up because of an emergency situation and panicked and were forced to move a great deal to handle it, that can be a problem. Using up a lot of their limited reserved can leave them in a situation where they may starve through the rest of the winter.

So Renwick and his insomnia is mostly just annoying for him, since he remains calm and still despite still being conscious - but a dryad waking up to deal with a fire could put them at risk of not surviving to see spring, just because of the panic and movement alone.
