Maedhros’s would be:
❝It always gets darker before it gets lighter.❞
Maglor’s would be:
❝Nobody is actually going to read this.❞
Dinenthel’s would be:
❝To everyone who said I wouldn’t get here: Suck it.❞

Other than Tauriel and Legolas, Feren was one of the first Elves that Sigrid interacted with, and as such, she grew somewhat attached to him, considering them to be friends, perhaps before he considered them to be friends. She tends to look for Feren when she visits Mirkwood, to say hello, and to look for him when the Elves of Mirkwood come visit Dale.

Admittedly, Feren wasn’t entirely sure what had possessed him to make the vow. His duty lay with his King and kin, not these mortal children of the desolated Laketown. With all that said and acknowledged, the captain decidedly did not care. Having stumbled upon them (almost quite literally) in the path of a raging Orc, Feren could not bring himself to abandon them. He knew not where Thranduil fought but without doubt the warrior king needed him less than these girls. The fighting had turned more into a scattered mêlée than an organized charge and so his company had fallen apart to match the need of battle. “Come…this way…” A careful hand guided Sigrid from the mid of her back with a gentleness that did not match the way the other hand held his sword. “What are your names?” Small talk to distract them, all the while sweeping his gaze over the city ruins, waiting for this calm in the storm to break as all clams must.
Sigrid loosened her grip on Tilda just enough to give both of them space to move. She kept a tight hold of Tilda's hand, though, and kept her sister close enough to her that she could grab her body to shield her again if need be.
The Elf guided them in the direction he wanted them to go, a hand on Sigrid's back to help guide her, and even though it was a small gesture, the touch served to comfort Sigrid more than his words did. Her eyes still darted around the streets, watching for any further sign of danger, hand holding Tilda's so tightly that she was almost surprised Tilda did not complain. But if any Orc showed its face, Sigrid would be able to get Tilda right against her body with just a sharp tug of her arm, and so she would not loosen her hold on her sister's hand.
"I'm Sigrid," she introduced herself breathlessly when he asked their names, "This is Tilda," she added, not hearing Tilda speak up with an introduction of her own name.
Hearing her name, though, Tilda seemed to have regained her voice, for she then piped up, looking over her shoulder at the tall Elf behind them, "What's your name, Mister Elf?"
Brand/Ralin forever judges How dare you give me these feels I will have revenge!
"I'm going to protect you." [[idkw but the idea of Feren being protective of the bardlings is adorable to me so have this]]
Sigrid looked up at the Elf, continuing to hold Tilda close to her as she gave the Elf a tight, grateful, nod. ”Thank you…” She didn’t know where Bain was, she didn’t know where her father was, all she knew was that somehow the Orcs had gotten into the city, and Tilda was scared. She was scared, too, and if this Elf said he was going to protect them…She already felt a bit of the fear releasing its grip on her.
