cafe
yooo this is ur resident trash j trying out story time for our babies yay! cafe au setting cause cafes and coffee
Shuugo was starting to get used to a pair of blank purple eyes always following him around.
At first, he had been a little confused at when he first met the guy. It had been a slow day in the cafe and he had been lounging around behind the counter, messing with his phone when the tingle at the door signalled the arrival of the short purple-haired boy who would end up at the coffee shop every day for four straight months. With his cat, of course.
Blinking a bit, it took him a bit of time to ignore the scowling furball and to sit up, shine a cheerful smile, give a saucy wink, and ask, “So what can I help you with, Grapehead?”
Nothing but a blink in return.
Raising his eyebrows, Shuugo shrugged and decided to just make a basic black coffee while the boy shuffled over to the corner table, pulled his scarf up to his nose and slouched low enough for his cat to jump on his lap. When Shuugo dropped off the coffee with a couple of sugars and creams, he merely stared at the blonde before nodding a bit. And for the next half hour, that was all the boy did - stare at Shuugo like the tapping of his fingers on the phone was the most interesting thing in the world. Right when Shuugo was starting to get really irritated, he suddenly downed the now-cold coffee, picked up the cat, and left without a word.
And for another sixteen weeks, that was what Shuugo faced - an apparently mute puple boy in the corner with a nasty cat that would come - sometimes with a book, sometimes with a phone, and always gone in exactly half an hour. Every time, Shuugo would make the same black coffee and every time, the boy would chug and vanish. To break up the monotony, Shuugo would sometimes take a peek at what he was reading (a lot of Stephen King and books that looked like they were in Korean), try a lame joke he picked up, or even just try out a new nickname (Alien, Mr. Slushie, etc). The former would cause no reaction at all, but the latter two would either elicit a little twitch of the eyebrows or rarely a small crinkling in the corner of the eyes that let Shuugo know that he had gotten a smile beneath the scarf.
