One fun fact about someone swearing in a kids' show, please.
Coming right up! Today You Learned about the bad words spoken by...
Más y Menos!
So if you watched the 2003 Teen Titans animated series, you remember these two, who were invented for the show. They're twins who are super fast as long as they're touching, and they only speak in Spanish. They're introduced as members of the Titans East. Their names mean 'Plus' and 'Minus' (or 'More' and 'Less'), and it's implied that their powers are connected to electromagnetic energy somehow?
Yeah, they also apparently swear on screen.
So this video captures the scene, at 1:36, in which the twins are calling out the other team members for messing up. The line towards the end is translated, in this YouTube video, is "this old guy isn't screwing around"; another video on YT translates the line as, "this old guy is pissing us off" (which itself isn't too family friendly). And, uh... look, my Spanish isn't great, but from what others have commented, the words in question are "nos está jodiendo", which more or less means...uh... "he's f***ing with us".
I've seen a comment claim that they also say 'pendejo', but I can't find what scene that would be in, so that's unconfirmed. Needless to say, that's also not a very nice word (I think Burn Notice put it as, "Idiot, but stronger.")
Mind you, if you don't speak Spanish, it's unlikely that you'd have a clue, and it's not like you'd expect non-Spanish speaking kids to pick up on it or repeat the sentence because they talk so fast, you'd be struggling to figure out what the words were.
Still! Pretty ballsy!
Now you know.
