The heavy thump of the cloth wrap startled Denny out of her reverie as she shook on the cold rock beneath her. Her unsteady eyes look from the cloth up to the tall elderly man nearby, his hands lifted to his mouth as he rubbed them together with his breath to warm them.
"What's this?"
"Snow," Eldridge Candell replied over his shoulder as he looked out across the white capped mountains of central Drustvar.
Agent Bond frowned as she gingerly lifted the cloth wrapped snow up to and eyed it with a mixture of wary curiosity. "It's freezing out here."
The older inquisitor would nod as he looked back to the wounded woman, his blue eyes hard as the cold sky above them as he lowered his red hands from his mouth. "Put it on your arm, you'll want it numb for the trek."
Unwanted but sound advice to Denisa as she grimaced and pressed the cloth to her crudely wrapped shoulder. Her blood was already beginning to bleed through the bandages. "You could have warned me about those things."
The hunter would snort as he stalked over to her, looking down at her with that same grim lined face. "Would you have believed me?"
Denny's eyes would stray to the smoldering piles of wicker that had been the monsters clawing out from the rocky high country. Her own face would mirror Candell's. "I do now."
"Good."
