Had a rad first day at security training, met the most awesome old hard bastard who'd been in the army, special forces, travelled the world being personal protection for the likes of the King of Jordan, been a police officer, security for various clubs around the UK and now teaches. He said he thinks I don't need any help getting into the security mindframe, as he can see i'm already perfect for a security job. AND everyone jacked my notes because no one could keep up with his dictation.
We also got into a few religious debates, because as a person who'd travelled a lot, he's also been the kind of guy to research the places he visits, read their books on culture, etiquette, and religion, including the Torah, the Qu'ran, the Bible etc. He was starting right at the beginning of "Time" as dictated by religious icons, with Adam and Eve. And you might ask "Why would you go into that?" And it's because he was talking about the way that people, from birth are conditioned to believe what is not true (I.E God did not write the Bible himself, other people interpreted it and so it is not truth...which I agree with anyway) which is a cardinal rule of security and dealing with situations, finding out the truth. This brought out a debate from a muslim man who just would not accept to agree to disagree and move on with the class. He just kept arguing and my God it was annoying. Anyway later, my teacher was talking about Saudi women wearing hijabs and burkas originally to protect them from the desert weather. He knows because he's protected women as such. He said, which is also true and agreed on by other muslims in the room, that it is not written in the Qu'ran that women MUST wear a covering/veil/hijab etc. It's not! It says women must dress "Modestly". And he just WOULD NOT have it. He ended up leaving after everyone was just like "SERIOUSLY, DUDE. JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LET US LEARN" hahahah.
I also learned that the NHS is a law unto itself, and should we have any kind of viral breakout, the NHS can legitimately overrule any army, police, or organization and essentially, can nuke an entire city...with people inside it.
THE NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE....REALLY?!?!?!?
God this course is SO interesting. I have 4 A3 pages of notes. I'm almost tempted to try and get into this higher up, like MI6 or whatever!
Anyway, rambling. My day was rad. But 3 hours sleep and 8 hours of intense information absorbing has left me with a headache and as tired as a dog. Nap time.
