For Day 8 of #31daysofhorror I continued the horror-by-country list with "Must Alpinist" (Ghost Mountaineer), one of the very few horror films to come out of Estonia. This movie is based on a true story of hikers going through Siberian mountains and having some unfortunate run-ins with both the spirits of the region and the local Soviet authorities. I liked the look and feel of this, from the beautiful snowy mountain trails to the late 80s Soviet world recreated, though the narrative gets a bit choppy at times (possibly intentional). I'm a sucker for folklore/local legend tales and thought that added a level of fear on top of the already real and frightening events. Worth checking out.
