Do you have any headcannons about sick!Ian and sick!mickey, and how the other would respond? I love the idea of them being in blanket cocoons and snuggling up while sick

I don’t know what it is, but the most mundane/every day domestic things about Gallavich fascinate me (maybe just the idea of a domesticated thug thrills me?)

 It just tickles me thinking of Mickey making Ian soup and rubbing on his feet or back, insisting on helping him if he’s vomiting, looking up quick remedies to whatever it seems Ian has because god help him, he can’t stand watching Ian suffer. And yeah, once Ian finally can get to sleep because Mickey somehow successfully helped settle Ian’s poor nauseated stomach or lessen the power of his coughs, I could totally see Mickey spooning him, rubbing gentle circles on his man’s shoulder, stroking his hair even long after Ian’s definitely asleep. Ian would definitely be an easier patient than Mickey…

 When Mickey’s sick, I imagine he tries to act like he’s not sick but then is a total baby when it comes down to it. I see Ian trying hard to convince Mickey he needs to lay down and just rest, and gets so irritated with him because Mickey’s trying to power through, but then finally after 12 hours of struggling and Mickey can’t deny it anymore, Ian finally just laughs at him and tucks him into bed. Ian asks Mickey about all of his symptoms and uses what he knows from his training and additional research to find the best ways to sooth his symptoms and each thing Ian wants to try, Mickey is like “fuck no! I don’t need that! I just need to sleep! Or you can make me some of that chicken soup everyone says cures every fucking thing.” But each time Ian tries to make him eat, Mickey whines and begs for sleep and Ian just laughs under his breath. Finally the next day, his illness is dragged out because he didn’t take care of himself right away, Mickey is asking Ian to try all of those things again because he’s so miserable, and this time Ian can’t make fun of him because he hates seeing Mickey so uncomfortable. Finally as Mickey starts to feel better he teases Ian for being his nurse and Ian goes to playfully punch him and Mickey overreacts like “noooo, malpractice! Your bedside manner sucks!” And Ian’s like “Okay, you feel better. Get up!” xD But in the end they just end up cuddling the rest of the day, Ian getting up when Mickey whines for something like more soup or water.

A Fic a Day in the Month of May - Day Twenty-Eight

based on a prompt: Hey! I was wondering if you could write one where Ian's sick with a really high fever and Mickey takes care of him, in a Mickey sort of way?

"Mickey, I told you, I'm okay," Ian said, his face pale and his stomach queasy.

"You look like shit, you're not okay," Mickey said as he walked back into the room with a bucket and the duvet from their bed. "You've got a fever too, give me a minute and I'll take your fuckin' temperature."

"The old fashioned way?" Ian asked with a grin.

"I am not putting any part of me inside you until you start looking less like an alien," he said, throwing the blanket over him just for Ian to toss it down to his feet as he lat on the couch.

"Too hot," he said.

"That's it, I'm getting the fuckin' thermometer."

Mickey walked out and rummaged through the medicine cabinet for the old thermometer, the last thing he wanted was for Ian to be actually diagnosably sick with him doing nothing about it. He came back in to Ian lying on his side, the look on his face was one of exhaustion and Mickey sighed.

He sat down on the floor beside Ian's head and raised an eyebrow. "Don't tell me you're not fucking sick," he said, his fingers reaching out to stroke the side of his face and Ian closed his eyes.

"That's nice," he whispered and Mickey smiled to himself a little.

"Yeah well don't get used to it, nice is not my thing."

He didn't stop with his gentle touch until Ian leaned over the side of the couch and emptied the contents of his stomach into the bucket. Mickey pulled back and waited for him to finish before he handed him the towel and helped to wipe his mouth.

Ian pushed him away, "no!" he coughed but Mickey held his weak hands back.

"Don't tell me 'no', I'm going to help you whether you want me to or not Firecrotch. Okay?"

"Okay," Ian said with a pained groan.

"Good, you want anything?"

"Can you just sit with me?" Ian said quietly.

Mickey rolled his eyes affectionately and lifted Ian's legs to sit under them on the couch.

"Fine, but I'm picking the channel," he said.

"Thanks Mick," he said.

"Yeah, yeah, just shut up and try to get some sleep," Mickey said, his hands softly running the length of Ian's leg.

This was the deal right? Sickness and health?

Mickey scolded himself internally, what kind of sick shit had he gotten himself into?

(this is set a bit in the future. MIckey and Ian have been "together" for awhile. Mickey practically lives at the Gallaghers just not technically. TERRY IS FUCKING DEAD)

Mickey opens the backdoor to the Gallagher, his usual way of entering, surprised to find it fairly vacant. He notices a note on the kitchen table with his name on it. 

Mickey,

    Made some banana pancakes. Tried my best to keep Carl away from eating all of them. Ian's in bed sick. Thinks it might be the flu. :( There's soup in the cabinet if he's hungry.

Mickey smiles at Debbie's note and tucks it in his jean pocket. He opens the fridge to find the batch of pancakes, heats them up and scarfs them down. He wipes his mouth when he finishes, sitting back for a moment savoring the taste. Fuck Lip's method for making them Debbie always makes the best banana pancakes. He places his plate in the sink and climbs the stairs bracing himself for a flu ridden Ian. 

He stands by Ian's door and opens it slowly. "hey" he says quietly stepping in. "Ian?" he whispers. He walks over towards the bed not able to place where that wheezing noise was coming from only to figure out it was coming from Ian. He looks over at his lover laying in the bed on his side, facing the window, paler than he's ever seen him. He puts his hand on Ian's shoulder causing the younger boy to open his yes. 

"Jesus christ, Ian. You don't look good, man"

Ian moans. "Don't...feel-" he's cut off as he goes into a coughing fit. Mickey steps back, concern on his face. 

"Yeah you don't sound too good either" 

Ian moans and turns on his other side facing Mickey, still coughing a bit. Pain etched on his face. 

"what hurts?" Mickey asks, patiently waiting for Ian to answer. 

Ian groans, pulling his covers up closer to him "Everything"

He closes his eyes as Mickey feels his head. 

"Debbie says you have the flu?" Ian nods as he finds himself coughing fiercely again. 

"Fuck that" Mickey says, getting a questioned look from Ian in return. "That's not the flu"

"You a doctor now?" Ian mumbled. 

"No but I fucking know what the flu sounds like and I know it shouldn't sound like that".

Mickey goes into Ian's closet and finds one of his jacket and drapes it over his shoulder as he walks back over to Ian's bed.

"Come on, " Mickey nudges Ian gently. 

"Wha-?" 

"I'm taking you to someone"

"noo mickey.."

"No, no. Come on" Mickey helps Ian sit up and put his jacket on.  

"Work?" Ian asks 

"Nah took the day off." Ian looks at him. "Okay...well I'm going to take it off they just don't know it yet"

Ian rolls his eyes and sighs as he stands up and follows  Mickey, who looks back every few paces to make sure Ian's still standing, until they exit the house. They get into the car Mickey is "borrowing" that day and Ian rests his head on the window, trying to let the cool touch of the glass ease his migraine. He puts his hand over his eyes in a false attempt to block out the sun. 

"Here," Mickey hands Ian a set of sunglasses. "Works well for hangovers. Might help some?"

"Mmm I'd kiss you if I could move without hurting"

"Ha yeah this is the only time I rather you didn't"

Ian chuckles slightly then moans when he realizes that laughing wasn't a good idea. 

Mickey and Ian soon get to a doctor. The male nurse there eyes Ian with what Mickey can only determine as lust filled and he has to resist the urge to follow them and break him away from contact with Ian. He picks up a magazine on the table and starts to flip through it. He rolls his eyes and sits back. 

"Fuck...they could've at least put on better music than this piece of shit" he mumbles to himself.

Eventually after what seems like forever of listening to a  torturous mix of elevator music, baby einstein, and fancy 80's restaurant music he sees Ian walking through the door, nodding to the somewhat attractive nurse from before. Mickey throws the magazine down on the table and walks over to Ian who's talking to the receptionist, a mask covering his face. He walks over towards Mickey, meeting him halfway. 

"Chest infection" he says handing Mickey a piece of paper with prescriptions on it. 

"I knew it" MIckey says taking the paper from Ian and looking at it before putting it in his pocket. 

"Congrats. Can we get the fuck out of here?"

"Alright, alright let's go Michael Jackson" Ian sighs and shakes his head at Mickey grinning and they both exit the office. 

"Hey, "  Mickey starts, looking at Ian. "How's a milkshake sound? That's all Iggy talked about wanting when he had a chest infection." 

Ian sighs as he leans back in the passenger seat of the car "God, I love you so much right now"

"Mmmm I know you do. But first we get you some meds" Mickey smiles at Ian as he starts the car.
