The Librarian and The Author

In this analogy; She is the librarian.   She gives you her love …. only to take it back again.   She loans it to you like a library book…. it will never be yours to keep forever.   Whenever you start to get comfortable - suddenly it’s overdue, time to give it back… and every time you pay a penalty… a fine…. an infringement..     It is a punishment, like you are some lowly petty criminal and contentment is your crime.   Your loyalty convinces you that you want to finish the book … read it through to the end. But every time you re-borrow you start from the beginning again.   You can’t see …. even if there is a happy ending – you’ll never get to it, because you keep rereading the same chapters over and over again….

In this analogy; I am the author.   I didn’t just give you a book of your very own … I wrote one for you.   A book of love… pages and pages long.  Love that was yours forever - I would never have taken it from you.   And like my affection, it was every genre you could possibly imagine, all rolled into one.   It was a joke book full of laughter…   A photo album full of memories….   An anthology full of love…..

And a choose your own adventure novel ….. that choices ended too early.
