umm what about mock executions in whump
Whumpee forced to spend hours digging their own grave, only to be told they’re not going to be put in it….“this time”
A gun pointed directly at Whumpee’s head and the trigger pulled only to be revealed it’s not loaded
Team whump where everyone is blindfolded and shots ring out, then everyone is put back in separate cells and left to question who actually was killed (if anyone)
Whumpee is repeatedly strangled/suffocated/dunked beneath water justtt to the losing consciousness, then given a break long enough not to pass out. When they’re finally able to breathe enough to speak, Whumper forces them to beg for their life to be spared (Whumper was never planning on killing them to begin with)
Whumper smirking with malevolent satisfaction as a typically stoic Whumpee pleads for their life
ORRR a stoic Whumpee just stares them down over the barrel of the gun and Whumper begins to get frustrated that things aren’t going to plan
Whumpee dragged from their cell in the middle of the night, forced to kneel, and told they’ll be killed once the executioner arrives. They wait for hours on their knees before being taken back to their cell without explanation. Repeat for a week straight
What might Whumpee feel afterwards? On edge, convinced they could be killed any moment? Humiliated that they broke down in fear? Furious that Whumper played such a sick mind game on them? A twisted sense of gratitude that they were allowed to live?? Many options
a few dialogue prompts:
“No - no, I don’t wanna die, I don’t wanna die, please!”
Just - do it already! Just do it!”
“Oh, man - I’m kidding. You should’ve seen the look on your face!”
“I want all of you to remember this the next time you think you want to be all tough like Whumpee here.”
“Convince me.”

very much inspired by this post by @pvtashby !
Whumper who has clear-cut rules, and does punish according to Whumpee's obedience rather than just hurting them at Whumper's whims—but with a catch: there are two sets of rules.
The first set of rules are the ones Whumper presents to Whumpee. The ones Whumper lists out, and requires Whumpee to memorize and frequently recite verbatim. Whumper will yell and scold if whumpee breaks one of these, but not lay a hand on them.
The second set of rules are the ones that are actually enforced, but never said aloud. Whumper never verbalizes them, nor allows Whumpee to speak about them. But these are the rules that dictate serious punishments, doled out in harsh silence.
When Whumpee finally caves and obeys the rules Whumper told them, they're still punished. They begin to fear there's no way to escape the torment; until Whumpee figures out Whumper's game. Then one by one, through agonizing trial and error, Whumpee manages to puzzle out the silent rules. They become exactly what Whumper worked to mold them into but incomprehensible to everyone else!

Lately I’ve been thinking about how Hannibal could have conditioned Will far more deeply than the series shows - almost Winter Soldier–level. Even Chilton couldn’t detect it during Season 2. When Jack finally corners Hannibal in Italy, with Will at his side, Hannibal doesn’t need to flee. He simply whispers the trigger word.
And in an instant, Will’s mind clicks and he reacts. Jack doesn’t stand a chance.
The way all of this is, yes, hilarious, but also smart! The whole post-race, everyone seemed to care about 2 things: Charles’ incredible defensive racing & Max’s chances in the championship contention. Charles didn’t look upset that Lando overtook him; he easily admitted that mcl had more pace. Max didn’t care about Lando being second; he mostly talked about how Charles’ defense helped him comfortably win and build the gap. Nobody celebrated Lando’s desperate attempt to clinch second place; nobody cared that he was now even closer to Oscar than he had been previously. Max’s saying post-sprint-qualifying that they're all gonna be close in T1 in the sprint, and it’s what they are here for, real racing—a seamless dig towards the papaya rules and their attempts to control the championship narrative artificially. Post-race qualifying and post-race Max’s whole body language leaned towards Charles, mostly ignoring Lando and turning his back at him. And a cherry on top: Max, cropping Lando out of the picture with him and Charles for his insta story. Max made it look like Lando’s attempts were simply nothing, made him look invisible. And oh, what about Oscar finishing p5? Have we just… forgotten about him?
And while it might seem like one small thing after another and a very far-fetched take, I’d rather sit back and observe how it all comes together as one large picture. Max knows how to get under the skin; he knows how to manipulate and pressure psychologically. And he for sure knows how to play this game.
