Home Slice was just exploring. He looks a lot better than when. Got him. I can actually see pupil and iris on one of his eyes! #bettafish #sickbetta #popeye https://www.instagram.com/p/B85H-9GHPSs6d-o9MLgmFf9XjpYW7EnZ5blNpM0/?igshid=1on2ry0iowlzq
Well I adopted a fish who’s probably gonna die. I’m gonna do my best to treat him for the severe popeye he has in both of his eyes. I really hope he makes it. This is how you end up with another fish you weren’t even planning on getting #sickfish #sickbetta https://www.instagram.com/p/B8Uvq31noZ69UIHLawMYyAx3WAJhriC4UQT7ZM0/?igshid=1uh0qi1vtsrlm
Day 3 with the betta. He usually still floats at the top of the tank so I keep the filter off for most of the day. We did have a set back with the medicine I bought to treat his fin rot, I think it gave him burns (possibly what the redness on the top of the head is). I put in an order for some aquarium salt for a natural cure. I feel so bad for possibly making him worse. #betta #babybetta #crowntail #sickbetta https://www.instagram.com/p/BsO8GgyBhlb/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=mm9hv4g0ik54
Day 2 with the new betta. After some research I’m guessing he’s about 3 months old. After about 5 minutes of rigging him a way to eat with a net (so the food can’t get away) it took another 10 for him to accept the thawed bloodworms. But eating is good! Hoping I get the same results when I feed him before bed #betta #baby betta #crowntail #sickbetta https://www.instagram.com/p/BsLycU8B3E0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1aet0548n5mr1
Sick betta! :(
I've had betas in the past and they have all been happy little fish living out their lives. My last betta died a while back and I haven't gotten another one. But with the stress of school I decided I needed another little guy to brighten up my days. Because who doesn't love these little guys? So Wednesday morning I went to the pet store just to look, and fell in love with this half moon blue boy and I knew I had to have him. He looked a little beat up but I figured some TLC would do the trick. I got everything set up and went to class. Come home later and the next morning I float him. He was acting kinda odd but j figured he was upset about all the transfer. Once I get him settled in he explored a bit but stuck to the bitten of the tank and was acting very lethargic. I come home from school to see him laying in his side at the bottom of the tank. I set him up in a fresh quarantine and I'm realising that he has fin rot. I don't know how I didn't spot it. And I don't know what else might be wrong with him. I'm just super worried for Barrington that he might not make it through the night. If he does I'm taking him someplace to get him help :(
