are the fae a children of nature? they seem to be always around mother earth
There are many who believe such a thing. They are incorrect. Faerie is far older than your world, far older than your Nature. So saying, we cannot be its children. But that does not mean that we cannot be close to it. When you spend millennia existing alongside something, you often become close to it. Some Faerie Folk have even been created, born, or have come into existence in the gulf between Nature and Fae. Some of these you might recognize as the Fae folk like Dryads or Undine. Still Fae, but closer to nature than most Faeries who simply live in it.There are some of the Folk who act as guardians. Protectors of land and those who dwell within their dominions. They often take on forms that blend in with the place they have chosen to protect.
Finally, we would like to note that if you saw something from its very birth and remained alive for all of its growth and many changes, you might understand it more than a race of beings who have only been alive for the very tail end of its long long existence. You are as much a part of nature as anything else on your world. But we...we are Other. We are more. We live comfortably within your Nature because we understand it. But think how many stories involve nature being twisted and killed because something powerful and dark was happening within the communities of the Folk. We are too powerful and our magic can either cause your world to flourish in abundance or sicken and die. We strive constantly to maintain a balance that we dare not break, not even to prevent others from destroying or caring for the same Nature which we live with when we come into your world. That is the truth of the matter. We are not Nature. Your Mother Earth is not our mother. But we can exist alongside the rhythmic heartbeat of your world in peace. Our dance follows the echoing song of patterns and circles that control all the world; our songs are the footfalls of memory and imagination that wind through darkened woods and cross dry deserts. Perhaps one day, if humanity lives long enough, and if you can grow enough as a species, you too might become as close to your nature as we have. It is certainly possible, even now. Good luck, human.
