Kirby, my Kirby-irby-irbs, my bunny thumpers, my Fumps, is under the weather. She twice tested negative for Panleukopenia, she isn't running a fever, and there is no vomiting or diarrhea - though there is definitely nausea and fatigue. We're providing supportive care (antibiotics, anti-nausea meds, b-12 vitamins, and subcutaneous fluids and tube-feeding liquid purees), but it's a horrible game of Wait and See while we track symptoms and look for the slightest change in either direction. She began showing symptoms yesterday morning. We're 36 hours into care with no change, though, perhaps heartbreakingly, this week is the first time we've been able to feel her purr; and when we stroke her, she happy-flexes her toe beans. Did I mention Tails just crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Thursday? Oh, and he was her brother. But while he had a full tail, Kirby has just a nub - she is a Rumpy Riser Manx.
