Parvathy, a woman, who has spoken about being raped as a young newcomer in the film industry spoke of her disappointment and hurt in Mammootty threatening a woman with rape in Kasaba. ETA: She spoke as part of her activities with the Women in Cinema Collective at IFFK.
This is not the first instance of Mammootty forgiving or glorifying rape in his films.
His fans have been at it nonstop attempting to silence her, slut shame her and threatening to rape and kill her. The list of abusers include Jude Anthany Joseph and Siddique. Mammootty has not told any of these people to cut it out. He also more or less sided with Dileep when he was trying to blacklist Manju after their divorce.
