wdym this has been in our ask box for like 3 years no it hasn't

the sidekick hadn't meant to let the villain get this far. they'd wanted to be a guiding force, someone to gently reign the villain in whenever things got too far. but this? there was no recovering from this.

the villain hadn't planned on getting attached to anyone, but this one person somehow kept giving them advice on all of their plans, and suddenly the villain's asking them, "hey, do you want to be my sidekick?"

they'd started out as villain and sidekick, but the villain watched as the sidekick grew more and more ruthless, more desperate for acknowledgement. now the villain wasn't so sure that their sidekick was actually the sidekick–maybe the villain had been the sidekick all along.

the sidekick originally worked for the heroes, but decided that the heroes weren't really all that great, and so they went to offer their services to the villain.

the sidekick wasn't supposed to be here; the villain had made them promise that they'd stay home. but nope, here they were...ready to kick both the hero's ass, for harming their loved one, AND the villain's, because "i knew you couldn't do anything without me, honestly, you're so hopeless sometimes".
