Date night with my boo; theme: Beer with a Cheese and Meat plate accompanied with a baguette, strawberry rhubarb jam, honey and butter. The cheeses we had were Romeral (Rosemary encrusted Manchego cheese from Spain) and Taleggio (a soft, almost spreadable cheese with a strong aroma from Italy) as for the meat, we had thinly sliced Bresaola (a salty lean beef inspired by Italian meats but made in Uruguay). The beers we had were Goose Island's Sofie from Chicago, USA and La Chouffe from Brasserie D'Achouffe in Belgium. Both were very good and paired well with our meats and cheeses. Side hill Farms Strawberry Rhubarb jam provided the right amount of fruity sweetness to the Taleggio and perfectly toasted baguette from Amy's Bread. I totally suggest this for those who haven't had these cheeses, meats, jam or beers before. Try them out!
