A Note To Friends

Helloooo out there, pony pals far and wide…

We assumed that at this point in October we would be frantically preparing and finalizing details to share as we approached what would have been the 9th annual Sidepony Express Music Festival in Bisbee, on Nov 13-15th.

But, as you may have guessed, the current pandemic and public health crisis have changed everything.

Now, we have been brainstorming for months on other possibilities but ultimately are not going to be able to do the festival this year.  I know, it’s the worst.

Nothing would have been better than to be able to go out and blow off this steam from a terrible stretch of months, but we just aren’t there yet.  Everyone’s safety and health and well-being are our utmost priority, and we don’t want to encourage any gatherings of crowds or negative health consequences.  Even with the utmost care and adherence to recommended safety guidelines, the logistics and inherent properties of the event prevent us from being able to make it work at this time.

Rest assured, we’d love to keep it going and pick up where we left off next year. We will come back stronger than ever and with a huge appetite for independent music!

Additionally, we want to stand in solidarity with our entertainment industry brothers and sisters who, like us, are so severely affected by the ongoing Covid-19 climate.  It will be a very long time before the industry is back on its feet and venues can safely promote shows and music professionals can go back to making a living with their lifelong skillsets.  

We believe that until we are able to collectively eradicate the threat of the virus in our everyday lives, we have to all “work together alone” by staying home whenever possible, each doing our part to protect and preserve the arts and entertainment infrastructures of the world.  

So, as sad as we are to have to skip a year, we are just as anxious to get through all this and move on, once and for all.  We appreciate your help in achieving this goal.
