The Sweetest Dream

Based on @sidespart fanart, they are amazing, omg. 

This can be read as platonic or romantic, I didn’t want to make it explicit because I didn’t know what the fanart was supposed to be so it’s vague okay don’t @ me

Just like the others, Roman's duty inside Thomas wasn't just to be creative, fancible and extremely handsome. He had other things to do too, other functions, and one of those was to be the bringer of dreams, both real and figurative. He gave Thomas goals to achieve, dreams to fulfil, and enjoyment over his victories, but he also handed over actual dreams, allowing Thomas to get a sense of happiness and fulfilment inside his own imagination while he slept.

So yes, he was like Thomas' Sand Man, he brought him the nicest of dreams, and as such, he could do the same to the other sides too. He could put them all to sleep immediately, and make up the most incredible dreams as they wished. He calmed Virgil down when he struggled, giving him dreams of emo bands shows and Thomas' friends; he gave Patton some relief whenever he was overwhelmed, giving him dreams of children he could take care of and cookies the size of beds; he reluctantly gave Janus some time to adjust, allowing him to dream about being an actual snake in a calm amazon forest and relaxing underneath a tent under the bright night sky; and he even opened some exceptions to Remus, the bringer of nightmares, some time for his dreams, allowing him to dream about killing evil monsters and protecting the ones he loved.

They were regulars, Roman could say. Patton came the most often, followed by Virgil and then the other two. But there was a side in particular that rarely requested his magical skills, and that usually prefer the hard cold silent sleep rather than a warm, happy dream.

And Roman felt frustrated, sometimes, because he knew he could give Logan whatever he desired, for a short period of time, and yet he was still denied access to Logan's incredible mind, that were probably filled with wonder and mathematical equations.

He hadn't made dreams up for Logan in years, and he didn't expect to ever do them again. But that afternoon, during a storm, after Thomas finished off a large project he was working on, Roman heard knocks in his door, and expected Patton or Janus to come in, requesting some type of comfort after such a long day of work.

"Come in" he said, turning his chair away from his desk, only to see Logan appearing behind his door, looking around until their eyes met. "Logan! What can I do for you?"

Logan came usually to talk, discuss subjects and make up new projects.

But today he looked tired.

"Patton and Virgil recommended I came to you this afternoon" he said, softly, getting inside, closing the door and fixing his tie. "They said I look... too stressed out and tired. That I'm working too much."

"But you only come over when you wish to work" Roman said, confused, but he could see the light blush in Logan's cheeks as he sighed and nervously fixed his tie again.

"I want to dream" he said, quickly, before he shook his head and softened his voice. "Give me a dream, please?"

Roman's eyes widened and sparkled with magic, turning almost red around the brown irises. He stood up, offering his bed, and Logan walked over, laying down. Roman sat just behind his head, gently placing it over his lap, removing Logan's glasses and loosening his tie, before brushing his hair back and allowing his magic to flow through his fingers, watching closely as Logan's eyes closed like he had received a nice sleeping pill.

"For you? The sweetest dream I've got" he whispered, leaning down, and with a spark of magic, he kissed Logan's forehead, allowing him to have the deepest, sweetest, most incredible dreams he ever wished.

And as he took Logan in his journey, entering his mind, guiding him to his dreams, he saw a beautiful field of flowers underneath a shiny night sky, filled with stars. And Logan sat on the grass, underneath it all, not alone, but with Roman by his side.

In his sleeping face, he smiled, and all his stress went away.

And Roman allowed himself also to relax, enjoying the view.

So I went to York Corn maze today and it had an illusion forest. I saw this sign and all I could think of was Logan and Roman arguing over what to say. 🤣🤣

Logan Yellow, Oran-

Roman: BLUE!!!

Logan: ... We are saying the word Roman, that is what it says to do.

Roman: but the color is BLUE Logan BLUE!!

Logan: the WORD!

Roman: COLOR you Cretan!

Thomas: *watching them argue* erm
