Looks to me like one of the sidewalk mites in the family Erythraeidae, possibly the genus Balaustium. I’ve never dealt with them coming inside so I can’t offer much advice in terms of prevention! I would strongly advise against pesticides, though, especially since these mites are harmless and pesticides have an insidious habit of climbing their way up the food chain. In fact they’re more than just harmless, if I’ve IDed it correctly. This family of mites is predatory and will eat plant pests like fungus gnats and thrips!
