Our partner @2nastyofficial of #SidewalkMalta just headed back to Hellfire Camp with one of these monsters to respond to the water crisis in the internment camp. He bought this with his own funds. Thank you @2nastyofficial #repost @2nastyofficial with @get_repost ・・・ Thank you Lee Foss @leefoss for supporting the music fundraiser for Itz Michaels Ebby the Nigerian refugee hip hop/r&b artist who is stuck in the internment camp “Hellfire” in Malta. We are getting closer to having the funding to professionally record his third song, which is a really amazing thing when you consider where he is, and what he has been through in the last 4 years. He fled his country because his parents were murdered and ended up in Libya where he was stabbed robbed kidnapped, human trafficked, tortured and imprisoned. Eventually he was able to save up enough money working in a war zone as s painter in Tripoli to pay a smuggler to get him on a rubber boat loaded with people to multiple times its capacity, which set off out into the Mediterranean. Eventually they were saved by a search and rescue nonprofit vessel called the”Mission Lifeline”., and ended up in Malta where he now resides in an open air internment camp known to its residents as “Hellfire” because of the terrible conditions. Itz is now safe from the horrors of Libya but that doesn’t mean that the residents of this camp are treated humanely. They are basically kept alive by the Maltese government and kept as geographically far away as possible from any metropolitan region and out of the public. Since this music project began I have watched my friend change from a person who was literally running for his life for 4 years, to someone who is reopening an artistic outlet inside of him and is pouring all of his heart and soul into it. He has stopped running, and started to create the beginning of a real life for himself. This is the kind of life that a lot of us in the United States take for granted, but it is everything to somebody who hasn’t had this type of freedom. please help me and @shannonkknox @the_sidewalk_project @somasnakeoil @staceysrad @punkrockandpaintbrushes help him finish his album and give him a piece of humanity that everyone deserves by buying one of these awesome t shirts, sharing or donating!
