Sidon is abducted by the Yiga Clan after they find out what he means to Link. However, Sidon himself is completely unaware of that fact, and he is absolutely convinced Link could never think of him as anything other than a friend. Link, meanwhile, is determined to bring him back home, no matter what.

"The Yiga Clan loathes Hyrule's good hero, and will stop at nothing to claim his life. Given their… numerous failed attempts at doing just that, they've clearly adopted a different strategy; if they cannot kill him, it appears they'll settle for causing him the most pain they possibly can, and they are certainly not above harming the people close to him for that purpose. Sidon doubtlessly features in that category, and he is endlessly proud of that, but he hadn't thought he'd be the prime target for such an endeavour.
Now, there's the kicker; somehow, some way, for some inane reason, the Yiga have become convinced that Link is in love with him."
Or, the Yiga are very proud of themselves for finding out Link's secret. Sidon finds the whole thing frankly hilarious, until he doesn't.
