ok something I should probably have asked sooner: what fandom are edmund and sigmund from? (I'm also interested what you do for a living, but notice how this is carefully not phrased as a question so you don't have to answer :P)

I AM SO HAPPY YOU ASKED THIS

Sigmund and Edward are from Infinite Undiscovery, which is one of my all time favorite games that is also very, very underrated. An evil organization called the Order of Chains has been chaining the moon to the world, and Sigmund has gone on a journey to stop them. He is accompanied by the Liberation Force (so if you ever see me say something about liberating the moon in tags, this is why it says that), which is a ragtag group of great characters.

Sigmund is like the champion of not giving a fuck. A mob of soldiers and an ogre getting ready to charge him down? With a wave of his hand arrows rain down upon them and he doesn't even blink. Cornered by wolves twice his size? Kills them both in one swing. He is a grade S level badass and as a result some really cool people follow him around. SIGMUND HAS HIS OWN PERSONAL NINJA. He also has people who give out his orders so he doesn't actually have to talk much. Sigmund is pretty great.

Edward is the original Sigmundite. When a new character, Capell (who is also awesome), appears, Edward is not having any of this oblivious-plebeian-who-mysteriously-looks-like-Sigmund bullshit. Edward's an asshole, but a really hilarious asshole who should basically be a mainstay in your party because he's one of the best characters. It's pretty much canon that Edward is in love with Sigmund (like... 616 Steve and Tony level canon) and will tell anyone who will listen how awesome Sigmund is. My blog name is an honor and a lifestyle choice, really. All of the characters in Infinite Undiscovery have traits (some by default, others are unlockable). Edward gets the "Sigmundite" trait in an event where he, as to be expected, goes on a lengthy tirade about how Sigmund is The Best Ever. IU tracks the amount of relationship points all of the characters have for each other (basically, adding more points means they like each other more), and pretty much everyone thinks Edward is an asshole for this except Sigmund (he also approves of Capell more if Capell rolls with it, which is pretty gr9). Sigmund is pretty openly :| (all serious, all the time), but he secretly cares about everybody and is proud of them (especially someone who is Not Edward, but that's complicated).

Sigmund and Edward's relationship is pretty complex (p. much anything involving Sigmund is) but they are my forever OTP of Infinite Undiscovery. I'd say that I'd fight people who would insist that Edward is straight, but I'd actually be more amused than anything because that is hilariously wrong.

I think that covers all of the bases. You know about the second one ;)

A part of me wonders if Sigmund's whole "Everyone has a role to play, make your best effort" spiel to Edward (from the incident in Kolton) was meant as a "Sorry, I can't sleep with you right now" type speech. It's sensible and cryptic enough to make sense.

As a side note I wonder how, if ever, Sigmund would've explained everything once the Liberation Force had gotten to Casandra.
